Why does the championship game feel like such an anti-climax?

Talk and excitement about this game seems almost non existent.

Is it because both teams are from the south eastern part of the country and thus the media guys from the north east, far west and mid west kind of lost interest?

Is it because there were so many bowl blowouts and games without stellar ratings that it has kind of cast a pall on the whole post season?

Just too much sports saturation with the NFL wrapping up the regular season and gearing up for the playoffs, and college basketball and NBA basketball, and even soccer from europe?

Something I'm not thinking of?

Or is the excitement there and I'm just not picking up on it?

I think they spent all their hype over the last couple of weeks.

I'm fatigued.

It's the same story every year. It'll be another arse kicking by Bama. It'll only be enjoyable to Bama fans and Gamecocks who like seeing Clemson choke

CFB has been going on since September. I think most people who aren't fans of either team or just REALLY REALLY into CFB are just over it at this point.

I've still never seen last year's game. Don't really care unless my team is in it.

There's plenty of talk, though.

The lineup was in disarray. The New Years Six games should've closed out the bowl season on the 1st and 2nd.

I think everything is just so oversold these days, it becomes tiresome. CFB on facebook, twitter, tv, radio, SECrant, etc.

If I had any friends at all I wouldn't even be on this website ever.

Bama's dick is like a sandpaper tube. You ride it too long and you find out you no longer have a butthole.

But its better than

The week layoff after the plethora of bowls seems to kill enthusiasm. I wish the playoff games were held in mid-December, get a XMas break, then the major bowls on NYE & NYD, then the CFP Championship Game held the day after.

I'm obviously excited about this game, but I'm not sure I like the playoff.

I was more excited about the semi final game last year and this year than than I am about this game.

It's tough to string wins together in this sport. It's hard as hell to go through November undefeated then a CCG then semi final then NC. At some point, this just kinda feels like luck. Kinda like SOMEONE has to win. With the way Alabama beat MSU, I know they were the better team, but it still feels like more of a relief than it does a fun run to a championship. If it moves to 8 I'll be really, really bummed.

Matchup is terrible. If It was bama v OSU, ND, OU, FSU, literally anyone other than Clemson I'd watch. Just don't care. Mens basketball post season is infinitely better than football. March is the best time of the year

How can you say this and still call yourself a sports fan? You even post on a message board, a lot of times about other teams, and then come here and say you didn't watch last year's championship and don't care if your team isn't in it.

Yep.

CFB isn't like CBB, NBA, MLB or even NFL in the sense that CFB is SO oversold, and you're supposed to care so much, and it's only on Saturdays (basically). It's almost like you're not allowed to just follow it casually, but the season has gotten so long with so many story lines, people are just tired of it at this point in the season I think.

I think ESPN is ruining college football. I think I liked the old way better than the playoffs. This is too much football.

These days, if pro and college sports disappeared, it wouldn't change my life or my enjoyment of life one bit. That's a good thing.

Watching any of the pregame for this year's playoff games, it was like "how do we verbally fellate these teams, coaches, universities, conferences, etc in a new and exciting way". It's like they're talking about stuff that matters. It doesn't. Its dumb.
