Texas fans have been saying such for ages.

I never isn't it wasn't ever a rivalry in like the 40s or 50s. But it definitely isn't in today's college football.

was the same thing Baylor is to the A&M is absolutely comical.

I'm sure it's just a handful of fans saying that. Any remotely knowledgable CFB fan knows it was/is a rivalry. Texas fans have gotten incredibly obsessed with A&M recently though. Shaggy and Orangebloods probably start at least 10 threads a day about Texas A&M. I would be embarrassed about acting like a little brother if I were them.

What do you think is the premier college football program in the state of Texas and why?

Right now? Baylor
Who do I think has the best chance at building an actual program who could stay on top? A&M

Well that's kind of a no win situation don't you think? Since the biggest hack in all of college sports made an article about how the SEC will make sure a&m and LSU don't play Texas in the Texas bowl, if we don't end up there, it proves his report true no matter what?

You're not wrong, but I imagine we'll get other sources on whether or not the bowl was truly interested in the matchup.

The thing you can't really prove is whether Texas had/didn't have hesitation about playing the game if the bowl indicates that it was after the matchup.

well the bowl may want the matchup but that doesn't necessarily mean the conference will follow. They could see how a&m generally travels well so they may want to put us out of state, while arky has a bunch of fans in Texas and also generally travels well so they get put in the Texas bowl. The Texas bowl might want the two biggest programs in the state but that doesn't mean its going to happen

The SEC office doesn't post their dialogue on the Internet. Each member institution has sources who get bowl info each year. Ole Miss got word that it would be after next weeks title games before we knew for sure which bowl we were going to. Florida was mentioned as a real liability for ticket buyback without a coach and all. The loss to GT cost UGA a big 6 new years bowl, Peach. They also mentioned TAMU is refusing the matchup with Texas but the SEC is giving them LSU.

If this continues, they will soon find themselves with a significantly less talented roster than the one in College Station

It's like the Alabama/Ole Miss rivalry.

You want a link to sources? Join a paid scout or rivals site. Every school has sources. The SEC is a small family and we know each other's business. You're still learning and not a fast pace I can see.
