Greg Hardy had two seasons under Nutt(08/09) and was projected a first round pick going into 2009. He was pretty hyped that season, everyone knew him. Of course, he was made of glass in college.

He still didn't get hyped like he would have if he was on a good team.

He was a beast TE and DE in the SEC - when is the last time that happened? That would've been a Heisman trophy @ Ohio State

Not many teams have that "standout" rb as in years past. What's up with the NFL trend of using a running back by committee approach?

It's a combination of several factors.

One, a lot of guys can be NFL running backs. The same can't be said for a lot of positions. Even mediocre college backs can get at legitimate shot at the NFL.

Two, running backs aren't durable. They only last a few years on average. It makes sense to run by committee to avoid injury and fatigue, and because you're probably keeping several on your roster anyway.

Three, NFL defensive lines are as good as I can remember. Teams need multiple backs to counter the looks they get from defensive schemes and to keep their runners fresh.

Thanks for the link. Wow. I was a fan, but it's hard to believe that all happened in one game.
