eh, if fournette goes on to win the heisman, he'll get even more hype than he has so far this year. however, like tebow and manziel before him, everyone will expect more out of him next year even if his final numbers are absurd this year.

I dunno about that, everyone was all about the mariota wagon last year even with Jameis returning (granted Jameis was a perfect villain).

regardless, some of the publicity is because it is more new for LF to be amazing than for chubb. If Chubb goes Zeke Elliott on Bama this weekend, people will talk about him

Chubb is a bad mother fricker who is being compared to Emmitt Smith. I actually agree with the comparison. His balance, vision, power and cutback ability all favor the comparison. He's faster than Emmitt was, too.

That said, why are you worried about the (comparative) lack of attention he's getting? And why not celebrate both athletes for what they bring to the sport? You have to admit, if you have watched LSU this year, that Fournette is fun to watch. To say that he's done nothing in comparison to Chubb is simply false. Fournette has over 600 yards rushing in just three games.

By the way, the debate about who is better is just beginning. This will go on for a long, long time, depending on which player's running style you like better, their numbers, and the offensive line they run behind (in college and the NFL). Try to enjoy the ride. I like the fact that both running backs are coming into view at the same time. It's like a Bird/Magic kind of thing. They will only make each other better.

Vandys defense is rated higher than Auburn, MS State and Syracuse and they have played both Georgia and Ole Miss. But lets not facts skew the narrative.

2015 Total Defense Rankings

Why wouldn't you look at rushing defense? Wouldn't that be a much more relevant stat? Or is it that it doesn't fit your argument...

For LSU, opponents rank 19,80, and 108 currently.

For UGA, opponents rank 37,74, 82, and no rank for Southern.

Then factor in that LSU's opponents have slid further down because we are averaging more rush yards per game, it's obvious who has played better defenses and who has been more effective against them.

TL:DR? Stop being a homer. There is no metric that shows Chubb to be better than LF.

It's pretty evident who the better talent is by watching the two

omg I am so sick of LSU fans talking about Fournette!

Yeah, how dare fans of a school talk about their guy who is a Heisman trophy front-runner!

If Chubb shows up big Saturday and hangs a big number on Bama with a Georgia win, they all gonna be talking about him again. Right now, Fournette has has some flashy long breakaway runs and trucked some defenders giving them a sports center moment.

I hate that I'm even wading into one of these topics, but the reason is simple IMO: Fournette has had more ridiculous moments.

That's not to say he's been better; Chubb breaks off 20 runs all the time. But none of them look like this:

Chubb's style of running is less immediately impressive than something like that. And FWIW I think he's a better back against Alabama with his unreal acceleration and low center of gravity. That's going to give the bigger/slower (note: I did not say "slow") LB's fits. I also think Guice is going to ball out for us in that game.

I "personally" would rather LF in general, but it's closer than people think.

When one says LF has played in 3 games, consider that in the AU game he sat down with 4 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter & sat the whole 4th. Against Syracuse, in two runs he had stats of 87 yds & 23 yrds taken off the books because of penalties. Don't include probable stats from playing a team like McNeese State & his stats are still seriously off the charts. Chubb is a great football RB & he's going to have many more opportunities for pub in the coming wks. All goes well, in a perfect world, and let's hope they get to match up in Atlanta at the end of the year.

Cause the media hates Georgia. Even their own news outlets such as AJC and Red and Black run hate adds for them. Check out the Imac stuff this week? Our own outlets trying to spread crap and get him suspended.

They are both great backs. Why does one have to be "better?" I enjoy watching both of them and I'm an LSU fan.

As for why he's getting more attention, it's all about the nationally televised game against Auburn. It was a human highlight show. Chubb has the spotlight this week against Bama.
