And no, bama was not more deserving than ND in 1966

Two time defending national champion that goes unbeaten and untied. But because of the anti-southern media bais was not voted for a thrid straight one.

Dame and Michigan played a tougher schedule than Bama.

All three went undefeated.

Dame and Michigan tied each other.

They are more deserving because they faced better competition and did not lose.

What is the better record?
9-0-1
9-0-1
11-0

How do you have any clue who played the harder schedule in 1966? What a silly response. Please back that claim up.

Notre Dame started the season ranked #6 and jumped Alabama because reporters and writers from the north didnt want a southern team to win a thrid straight championship in the middile of the civil rights era.

That 1869 National Champion Princeton team that went 1-1 was fricking legit. Outscored their opponents* 12-6 that year.

*Both (and only) games were against Rutgers one week apart.

Why bother replying to that guy? He's the worst poster on the board, and it's not like that's easy.

Alabama should burn those 1941 NC flags and put one up for 1966. They were hosed.

ND played 4 top ten teams in 1966.

They tied #2 Michigan State who also notched a top 10 victory. They beat the other three top ten teams by a combined total of 115-14.

Bama played zero ranked teams during the 1966 season. None. No top 10, no top 20, no one.

It is ridiculous for bama to think it is even debatable - who was more deserving. A team with 3 top ten victories with an average margin of victory of 38-4 vs a team with ZERO wins against even a top 20 team?

It is laughable.

How so? They played zero ranked teams during the 1966 season.

They beat Nebraska in the bowl, the only ranked team they faced all year.

You want to claim that is stronger than Dame's 115-14 point beatdowns of 3 top 10 teams?

shite no. This one isn't even debatable as to who has the better resume.

So I assume you fully endorse Alabama getting into the 2011 title game because they played a harder schedule then Okie State?

And sorry but 11-0 beats 9-0-1 every single time. If Notre Dame was so good, they shouldn't have tied Michigan State.

On the 1966 squad, Green Bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi stated: "I don't know, we haven't played Alabama yet" when asked how it felt to have the world's greatest football team for the season after his Packers won Super Bowl I.

Apparently the best coach ever, in his prime at that time, had no clue what he was talking about. Right?

You are so eat up with it you can't think straight. It's hilarious that you are exactly what you profess to hate. An envious troglodyte with a serious case of little brother syndrome.

Turn the page. Remember, the AP only listed the top 10. UPI had top 20. Not sure where they were ranked on gameday, but Tennessee finished in the top 10. Ole Miss was ranked in UPI and Alabama beat them pretty good in Jackson.

What really hurt them was Auburn's losing record.
