He's black. They don't think blacks should be coaches. He's an offensive genius. They don't think blacks should be geniuses. He ran through the league in his first season, finishing within a few points of going undefeated. No one should do that in the SEC. He did this with a team that was brand new to the SEC. This was a great taboo. His offense was so successful in the SEC that it made other SEC schools (including the great Alabama) change their offenses. Had he had some defense in his 2nd season he would have won the SEC West easily. Had he had some defense in his 3rd season and started his OTHER quarterback he might have won the SEC West. Now he might be getting some defense! He stole an esteemed DC from an SEC West rival. etc. etc. et al. What's not to hate?

An offensive genius? Yall didn't score a point last year against Alabama, and you had close to 100 yards by the time the fourth quarter started against LSU... When will you aggies realize that you cannot have a dominant defense paired with a fast paced offense. It doesn't happen unless the talent level is vastly superior to the other teams. As long as your offensive drives are lasting one minute or less your defense will always be left stranded. It's why LSU beats A&M every year. We win time of possesion like 45-15.

Why is your self esteem directly tied to what we think of your school's football coach?

ETA: I don't even dislike the guy. It's not like he's Saban.

Nope. Sorry.

The verb he wanted was "affects". It affects his funny bone. Meaning it acts on it, produces an effect.

"Effect" is the noun; "Affect" is the verb.

There IS a verb "to effect". But it means "to cause to happen, to come about".

If it effected his funny bone then he didn't have a funny bone until it happened, at which time his funny bone came to be.

QB issues. Interpersonal issues. The rest of the team (offense and defense) had chosen to not play with/for QB Kenny Hill. It's kind of hush-hush. We're not proud it happened. Happened it did.

A few weeks after losing 59-0 at Alabama (and after a QB change) we beat #3 Auburn. In Alabama.

Were still grooming the new quarterback. Things are looking better.

If by "vastly superior" you mean "at least 2-deep at every position" then yup. You're right.

We get it. We aim to get there. Thank you kindly.

EDIT: I will say this: LSU's defense HAS been Sumlin's nemesis. No question. Props when they're proper.

It's probably why Sumlin coveted (and ultimately scored) y'all's DC.

I think he's a poser but that's just me.

The West is a war zone and A&M has been soft on defense & running the ball. In other words we are exploiting you in the trenches.

I actually love the guy. Him being the coach ensures that the Aggies will amount to nothing

Except Les won the West in his first year.
Then a major bowl in his second.
Then the SEC (and BCS) in his third.
