Sticking up for your QB = thug?

And Richt didn't discourage it? How do you know this?

Not exactly. He said he wanted to get a personal foul. He told them if they score first to celebrate, hoot and holler, whoop it up, do whatever you want. That was the end of what he told the team. Knowshon and an OL worked out doing some camera-taking pose, which they did if you look at the film but nobody noticed. The bench took it upon themselves, unbeknownst to richt, to rush the field. Richt was just as surprised as everyone watching at home was when the bench cleared. That was not planned.

Kinda agree. What people overlook is that UF scored on their next possession. It was a 7-7 game halfway through the 1st quarter, there was still a looooot of ball left. We won because we were simply the better team.

I really do understand the need to spark a fire under the team and understand the history. It is just very odd that Richt took this route of telling his team to be "un-sportsmanlike", which is against everything that Richt stands for, in order to get them hyped up to eventually win the game.

In the end I am glad TWLOCP is not an instant win for Florida and is fun to watch. I just tend to think Richt probably regrets "OKing" any of his players to do that instead of getting them pumped up in a "sportsmanlike" way. Somewhat gives the impression to players that its OK to color outside the lines sometimes.

I am approaching this in a college "Ethics course" type of way, not trashing on Richt.

I agree that UGA was the better, but UGA could have folded when UF answered. The celebration basically helped them play loose though. It made the game fun.

i really think b/c of that incident, UGAs had a rep amongst the officials that's been hard for them to shake...

think back to the PF call on Richt in the first half of last year's DSOR... maybe that doesn't happen if UGA doesn't have the reputation... whether desevered or not, perception is reality.

I doubt that the ref at the time thought back to a play from 7 years ago before pulling the flag.

Something Auburn fans are well versed in.

I think it's the way UGA lost to Auburn that is the issue.

Exactly. If the IB play never happened, UGA fans would be having to relive that play so much more than they already have to. It sucks to lose in that way to a rival. It isn't the same as after 2010.

I miss pre-2010 DSOR. I mean yeah hate is awesome and I have hate in my heart, but there's only so much to spread around and the top 2 spots are pretty entrenched already.

I thank our lucky stars daily for the kick 6. 4th and Grantham is definitely overlooked these days whereas is destined to be the play that defined the 2013 college football season.

I don't really miss pre-2010 but I am with you. I love hate and I have lots of it for UF and GT that kinda kills it for AU. I hate Auburn and South Carolina a good bit but I loathe UF and GT entirely.

And early you made a good point. On here Auburn has a litany of insufferable twats but IRL Auburn fans haven't totally pissed me off. I have a few AU acquaintances that are bitter as shite about the day they were denied and hate Georgia but the ones who grew up AU fans are generally good people. Also, as much as I want to hate people when I go to AU they have routinely been the best in terms of treatment I have ever dealt with. 2010 sucked but they weren't awful to me. 2012 was great because it was basically UGA taking over their team and downtown. 2013 was really good to outside of one fat arse fratard coming over and telling me Murray "had low t"

I agree. I've talked to Gus about this issue, and said it was wrong to give you guys hope of winning the game. He promised it will not happen again, and you will have no hope of winning from now on.
