Yeah that's what he means. I don't have an issue with it though.

Thursday nights can be awesome. Sure they don't stack up to Saturday.

However, the atmosphere just feels different. It's usually electric for us. Plus you get to sit on your arse all day Saturday and watch everyone else play. Extra time off for the team until the next game too. On the flip side of that, you have to wait longer to see your team play. It has it's pro's and con's

Means you miss less TV games going to the live game.

sorry but the SEC needs that programming and ESPN is going to make sure it happens

I guess, but schools still have to agree to move the games...SECN or ESPN can't force a team to do it.

I am all for games being spread out so I can actually watch them. Everyone playing at the same time sucks for people that like reasons to sit and watch some of the good games.

But the SEC office pretty much can.

When you play State every year, sometimes they pull that shite on you.

I think a Thursday night matchup works well for both teams.

For Auburn if they are as good as people say they might be this is a chance to go prime time with a game that usually would get lost in the shuffle. You are the main event on Thursday night and all your recruits... and the top 25 voters... get to watch you.

For Kentucky its a chance at the Holy Grail. Yeah, they probably lose. Still better a loss where people are watching then a win no one gives a damn about. And if they pull out a win no one saw coming, if this is their big game for the year... well its a game where everyone is watching and they are on center stage.

Instead of being a game no one gives a rat's patoot about, this is a game that now has some real meaning for both teams. I like raising the stakes for a football game.

I would bet a dollar that the SEC/SECN/ESPN picked this game for Thursday night for the reasons you listed. I think it's a great opportunity for UK to show out.

I think its Kentucky's big game this coming season now. A win establishes the program, especially if you knock off Florida, Georgia, or the Vols this year as well.

A loss, well its a loss on the big stage.

Auburn will be looking to make a statement, but this is the Wildcats chance to dance. I really like this matchup.

Yep, the Cats have everything to gain and nothing to lose (unless Malzahn gets pissed about the Thursday game). The Eagles have a lot to lose and not much to gain unless they blow UK out of the stadium.

It's a desperate act for those schools/teams that desperately need attention - of any kind - no matter how low they have to stoop to get it.

Fortunately, the vast majority of the SEC doesn't have to worry about that.
