When they go to a different school? Whether it's a Bama fan at State or an LSU fan at OM I don't get this. It seems like you're eliminating a giant part of the college experience so you can root for your childhood team on TV.

If i went to Moo State i wouldn't stop rooting for Auburn. Why the frick would you want to change a team you've liked all your life?

OK, let's flip this around. Why would I root for a team just because I attend the school rather than root for the team I've rooted for my whole life?

because it's your school. that's where you have the chance to attend countless football, basketball, and baseball games. that's where your degree comes from, not the team you can remember rooting for less than a decade.

Why does it matter? People are gonna root for who they want to no matter what.

I've rooted for Auburn 15 years of my life. Changing teams is just flat out fricking stupid. That means you're not a true fan, so i'm waiting for you to become a Bama or Florida fan in the near future.

Im a life long Mississippian, grew up a State fan, went to school and graduated from State, and continue to cheer for them today.

I would never pull for another SEC school EVER. I have a friend who is an Ole Miss grad and he went to a State game and wore a MSU t-shirt. I could NEVER wear anything that says Ole Miss. I guess im just intolerant.

I did used to scratch my head and kinda get pissed off at people I went to school with at Mississippi State who were Alabama fans. I asked some of them if they loved Bama so much why didnt they go to school there. They never seemed to have any other comeback other than to shrug their shoulders, or just say my parents wouldnt pay out of state tuition.

i'm just saying it sounds kind of miserable. when their school is playing at the same time as their team from back home do they sit by themselves in their room and watch? sounds fun.

I would never choose a school based on which football team I liked. I go to school for a good education.

This, and once you get there you don't change your team so you won't be "miserable."

I wouldn't either, but I'd certainly change my priority to the school I was attending given it was an SEC or another major school. I can't really blame a ULM fan who roots for LSU or something like that.

So you only went to Bama because of the Education, and the fact that your a lifelong fan had nothing to do with you WANTING to go there????

that pisses me off to no end. not like they can use the excuse that they chose ULM to get a better education.
