I had a great discussion with States BBall problems with some of my State buddies that I'm in school with last night. They have thrown in the towel too

I will enjoy the upcoming season more than any season in the last ten years or so. I can finally have hope for the future and I hopefully will actually be able to enjoy watching us when we win.

Bundy's got a buddy in Tupelo that calls them that and he says it's legit.

Baylor's school of medicine is very well known and makes many advances in medicine.

Here's a reason why they might be so well regarded and were able to advance to the reputation they have today(from Wiki):

quote:

In 1969, the College separated from Baylor University and became an independent institution, which allowed it access to federal research funding. The institution's name changed to Baylor College of Medicine.

quote:

In 2009,... Baylor University entered into talks with BCM with a goal of strengthening ties to the medical school, however, the BCM board decided that it would remain an independent institution.

We're "State" because it's a pain to talk through all 5 syllables of "Mississippi State" all the time. - That, and nobody else in the conference has "State" in the name except for LSU, who goes only by LSU.

Lots of teams go by "State," "Tech," or "A&M." It's all about regional and situational context.

Stupid thread, and you should feel bad for starting it.

Ok, well just frick North Carolina State then.

And fwiw, NC State fans refer to ourselves as "State" as well.

It is common practice when there is a U of __ and ___ State.

People from Alabama dont realize that I guess.
