Because a DB struggling as a true freshman means what?
That he isn't Jamal Adams?

I don't hate him personally but he plays for Alabama so I hope he contributes negatively to the overall effectiveness of the team.

Dont think Alabama has any room to talk about CBs.
You guys won right? I'm sure you did with such awesome plays.

Tony brown probably regrets going to Bama and being a nobody when he could have been coached up and been somebody at lsu

And be part of the LSU decline?

DB'S get drafted pretty well from LSU even if the team plays bad. Amirite? He would have had more playing time at lsu as a frosh also.

He started on a SEC title team. I think he's doing all right.

Yep, no shite. Go to lsu, lose to Bama, AU, Ark, MSST, and bowl game or go to Bama, get to Play as a true freshman, beat lsu in death Valley at night, win the SECW, 11~1, help Bama win the SECCG, go to and play in the 1st CFPO.

No hate here for Tony. If I had to like a Bama player, it would be him.

Just wanna know because on almost every LSU board, I see yall dogging him and wishing that he gets torched or something, like Today I saw a thread stating they hope Tony continues Bama's defense downward slope, he's not from Louisiana so why the hate?
Obviously we thought he was coming to LSU. I think our coaches did, too. He kind of burned us.

I think its pretty clear that Brown didn't live up to anybody's expectations last year, Bama fans' least of all. Don't be disingenuous.

He was a true freshman in a complicated defense. He wasn't the first to have troubles. Kareem Jackson and Dee Milliner struggled as freshmen starters too. Both were eventually first round picks.

so many to respond to here.
I think you mean, the LSU recruiting site writers led on your fans and then needed to cover their collective asses for being wrong (as they were on 3 of the "5 for 5") so those writers & fans found a palatable solution - "Tony led the coaches on" - instead of the truth "the kid went where he wanted to go and that wasn't LSU despite what we thought".
The other excuse used to help LSU fans swallow missing out on another recruit (b/c it can never simply be the kid just preferred playing somewhere else) was their fall back formula - handlers and/or Bama cheated. I believe this time they questioned the integrity of his handicapped father claiming his dad took money.
You may be right on the whole genesis of it being 5 for 5 fiasco. Worked out well for them on the field, but their hopes were so high on that and it's all we heard about for weeks. They had to find some way to cope with being wrong (again) and the taunts that followed (mostly from A&M fans about Speedy).
You think he regrets winning an SEC Championship and getting solid playing time as a FR when he could have gone 8-5 instead?
