There have been one or two threads started with something like that but it definitely isn't the majority and there is a good chance both were trolling

People seem to forget but even with Miles, without devine intervention and a horrible personal foul call with 2 minutes left, we would have beaten Alabama the last two times in BR.

Because they can't wrap their tiny little brains around logic. The last 5 LSU home games the scores were 131-131(something like that), 2 games going to overtime.

In the 2011 game, LSU had 239 total yards - and won.

The last time LSU played UGA they had 449 yards - and lost.

There's more to football than offense stats.

FWIW, I don't think LSU will win. I do hope we do and I'll be cheering for them.

Oh really? You've heard from a majority of the LSU fan base?

I haven't, and I live in Baton Rouge.

this Bama team statistically appears more sound than any faced by LSU in several years.

LSU has averaged just 249 total yards in their six games against Alabama

you're right, it's over.

We've got some solid football discussion in the "Is Bama nervous about LF7" thread. Come on over to our safe space

Yeah I'm sure there is with a title like that

IT has actually been pretty good. The flames happened early in the thread but somehow football talk took over, mind bogling, I know.

If a team has the right kind of play makers. LSU does not.

Going back to 2009... with the exception of the fluke that was the Game of the Century... Alabama has lost just 9 games. Here are the combined statistics of the quarterbacks were able to beat Bama in those games:

Passing Completion: 18.33 / 27.78 (66.0%)
Yards per Game: 240 per game
Passing Touchdowns: 2.44 per game
Interceptions: 0.33 per game
Touchdown to Interception Ratio: 7.3 to 1
Rushing Yards: 39.9 per game

Of these 9 games in which teams were able to beat Bama, and also in the game of the century win for LSU back in 2011, not one time did the quarterbacks end the game with negative rushing yards... including any sacks they took.

Does anyone think Etling will throw for 240 yards... complete 66% of his passes... throw for at least 2 touchdowns with zero interceptions... and manage positive rushing yards in the game?

If so, you probably have a good chance of beating Bama.

I think what a lot of non-LSU fans don't understand is that posters on the LSU rant see this board as the trash talking board. Generally they come over here just to drop stink bombs. You can't really judge the fan base by these mad bombers.

LSU may surprise everyone. But I see no reason why this year's script will look any different from the past 5 contests

LSU fans might be a little "jacked up" to be sure, but its not like Alabama blows LSU out when they come to Baton Rouge. The last two trips to Tiger Stadium, the outcome was in doubt with seconds to go in each game, with one going to OT. Its not like they couldn't have gone the other way. They didn't and Alabama won, but not much would have to change for a different result.

Yep, and that's a big reason for a lot of the disdain and generalizations that gets thrown back, have to becuase the offenders have run back to the safety of the rant.

So if you still lose even without Les what will the talking points be?

If that's the answer, then fine. I totally get hoping your team will win and trying to muster up some inner confidence. But it seems the majority of LSU fans are far past that. Instead of "thinking we have a chance to win" its more of a "can't wait till be totally destroy the #1 team in the country by 20+ points."

Well, I can tell you almost no logical fan thinks we destroy them.

Remember, this is a message board where people can post whatever the hell they want.
