Exactly

But in terms of overall program health and direction you've got to be awfully delusional to think there is anything bad about putting a ton of players in the NFL.

You didn't put them there yet. They are getting the hell out of dodge...which some of them could use another year to greatly improve their stock. Guess they don't see their stock improving. No concern? Not even a tad?

nobody in college football is on Bama's level.

Oregon is probably the closest and we're a few spots below that. Les Miles is the ONLY coach to beat Saban @ Bama more that once.

Let's hope you have as much concern for that dumpster fire Arkie Program.....

LSU reloads and will be in the mix.....can we say the same for Arkie? Have we EVER had to say it?

Losing that much talent is what happens at good programs. I don't think this will have any serious long-term impact on LSU.

BUT, here are the problems that I see with it that some LSU fans seem to be burying their heads in the sand over:

1. These guys left early. It wasn't like their eligibility was up. Now you have holes in the roster that other programs do not have to address. Advantage other programs.

2. It will have an immediate impact on the 2013 season. While this may be nothing more than a bump in the road it could also be enough to stop LSU's momentum. It's never good for a program to appear as if it is on its way down.

3. That many players leaving APPEARS (key word) that there is trouble within. That may be enough to turn a recruit that is on the fence.

I am NOT arguing that ANY of this will happen -- ONLY that it is possible and that some LSU fans are ignoring that possibility.

Yeah, I was just responding to the guy who was using bama this year as an example of how LSU could reload quickly. First of all, Bama didn't have a mass exodus of underclassmen with no shot at the early rounds on their hands. And secondly, they're just on another level right now imo.

I keep hearing this but nobody can tell me what they are basing it on other than hopes and dreams

Why aren't any of you realizing the majority of the guys who are leaving were EXPECTED TO LEAVE BEFORE THE SEASON STARTED

Only a problem if not anticipated. As was previously stated, most of the guys leaving were anticipated departures. Not a lot of surprises. Valid point nonetheless, but not as significant as one would think.

I have no idea how breaking an SEC record for most players declaring early for the draft is a sign of a program going down. We're literally breaking records for getting elite talent ready for the next level ahead of schedule.

Possible, but negated (and more) by the appearance of being an absolute pro factory

Any Tiger fan that isn't somewhat concerned is just in deflection mode.

Great, be happy for them going for the pro's and improving their future, but to brush off this many leaving early is quite funny.

Just my opinion but if the LSU O had not stunk it up in the bowl game; I do not think this many guys would be leaving. Those D starters thought if I am going to have to play this much and work this hard for wins, might as well get paid to do it.

RBs leaving early I think is going to start being the norm because they are usually drafted not in the top 2 rounds anyway and that is the one position the younger the better with less tread off the tires.

it is a good thing, if you have won something that matters with them. if not, then something isn't right.

So no, not really
