The LSU fans we had at our tailgate enjoyed themselves. In fact, every LSU fan I saw had nothing but good things to say

Otherwise, let's just pay them and call it what it is.
I see this happening soon. There's no sense in keeping up the charade.

UVA is closer to DC than VT.
WVU by the way has a higher graduation rate for its football players than any SEC school other than Vandy.
AU, UT, and aTm are 3 of the worst schools in the country if you are African American playing football there and plan on graduating. You would be 40% less likely to graduate than if you were white. Ole Miss, USC, and Ark not far behind.
And WVU graduation rates for Basketball 100% vs UF at 17%. Even Vandy is only at 92%
None of this was meant as a dig at a particular school just pointing out WVU may not have an issue with academics especially with sports. Looking at the numbers it seems other conferences that pride themselves on academics for athletes seem to struggle as well and have some big disparities between athletes and non athletes graduating.

Always has been. I don't get your point.
DC is not a VT or UVA town but either team would probably earn the market for the SEC.
I'm confused by the 17 percent graduation rate because I don't recall anyone flunking out and especially not 83%.
Also, for the same year, of the Sweet sixteen participants, UF was fourth in APR with a score of 983. Third was Duke at 995.

Don't worry Missouri, even if we do add West Virginia you'll still lead the conference in meth labs

My comment about the size of VA tech was in relation to its proximity to dc. Uva is smaller and closer. Therefore I would be willing to bet the 2 have a roughly equal presence.
As for fb being watched more, there's no way that if uva started playing ranked sec teams, their interest wouldn't grow significantly.
Blacksburg really isn't by anything I would consider interesting or significant. I just don't see any attraction to VA tech at all.

quote:first, usnews' rankings are subjective and well known to be questionable. Second, I can't imagine VA tech being in the top half of the sec academically but, I could be wrong. Regardless there are several other schools that would be a better acquisition
VT is ranked 71 by USNews

I'm actually a really good dude. When WVU gets brought up, I get angered easily.
LSU football wise, I've been to Arizona State, Arkansas (Fayetteville and Little Rock), Ole Miss, Miss State, Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, and WVU. It just so happened that the West Virginia trip was the worst, and it stemmed from how we were treated by the fans. It was terrible man. Just being honest. The Arkansas games in Little Rock are a close second.
Remembering back, I think some LSU guy and his pregnant wife were assaulted after the game. Pretty sure he was hospitalized.

You seem like a nice person. I am sure that there are many good W Va fans but I have been to Morgantown and I would have to agree with the LSU fans and what they said about the experience they had with a lot of W Va. Fans. They were absolutely terrible. You have to admit that over the past few years there has been a lot of negative news about how many of your fans act and treat visiting fans at your games. Your president needs to take steps to clean up that environment and reputation. BTW I think that W Va has many beautiful areas and I love the mountains.

Again it was not directed at one school just showing some stats. Those numbers are from Scout so complain to them. The only thing that they do not count I believe are players leaving early for the pros. I believe they are based off of players entering a class and not graduating over a specific time period

This is what I was referring to as well. VT brings nothing more than what UVA would and in the long run UVA may be better for the SEC.
