The defense was good enough...older but good enough.

The offense as stated needed a QB

They went with Culpepper due some bad medical advice

Passed on Brees and that was the last favor Saban did for me

Helped the Saints but tormented my Tigers

I honestly believe he would have been great had he given it more time but I respect him for walking away at the end of the season instead of like Petrino did. Sabean would've been way more successful than Spurrier, Meyer and Petrino. All BS aside the man is the last of a unique generation.

Had he stayed, he would have triumphed. I have little doubt.

His destiny was to become CFB GOAT….even more revered than The Bear.

That is quite the accomplishment.

Greatest LSU Coach. Greatest Bama Coach.

A LEGEND.

Saban was not cut out to be an mfl head coach. He talked to the players like dogs and tried to control everything in an uncontrollable league.

He was also without his greatest advantage, which was out-talenting all of his opponents. In the NFL, you just can't do that, so he bolted back to CFB where he could essentially make his own advantage. Terri also did not like not being the queen bee of a town/organization. In Miami, they were ultimately small potatoes... And they didn't like that.

Because most of the players in the NFL can afford their own Dodge Chargers

One reason and one reason only, he didn’t take Drew Brees and instead took Daunte Culpepper. If Brees ended up in Miami, Saban is coaching equal to New England.

His players hated him. Pros don’t put up with his totalitarian style. Apparently he left the dolphins early, because Zach Thomas was ready to kick his arse on sight.

What successful Coach doesnt?

Save your NIL money, boys. Im sure that HC you paid 100 mil for can do it with the riffraff that other schools dont pick up

You can't win just getting the talent and teaching them fundamentals. I think Nick is a good strategist, but in the NFL all of the coaches that are there are big time strategy guys.

You've got to evaluate and find the guys in the lower part of the draft that can help you and you've got to figure out a way to beat the other guy with very little difference in talent in most games.

Another thing is you can't coach like you're a tyrant/dictator with your players there. The guys that relate the best to players these days are like Mike McDaniel. You can't really out work anyone. Rules as to how much time you can spend in the building, etc.

He probably would've won at some point, but it was much harder. Much easier to get the advantage in all areas over most teams in college if you are at the right place.

So you think petrino should of stayed for the last game of a losing season instead of bold face lie to miami say he not interested until the last game is played then leave? You are a moron if you think there is a difference

Son….you have Sam Pittman as a coach. You went 1-7 in the SEC this year.

The smart HAWG fans are keeping their heads down right now rather than make it easy for the rest of us.

he's the very last of being a special unique person. I didn't know the ride he was about to take us on as a Alabama fan. I just wanted 1 to 2 championships. I said he would walk away after 3, but I was very wrong. He stayed in the ring and fought for the past 17 years. Saban, whether you hate him or like him, is a special someone you that rarely comes around often. LSU was the first to hire him. They noticed the talent he had. They benefited from his talent. Do I believe in this new coach? Ask me the same question next year and I will be able to give you a better answer. DeBoer needs to be given a chance. He's earned it and he can be successful for ever how long he wants to be. He needs to win in life also.

Those of you who think the dictator style doesn’t work in the NFL have obviously never heard of Bill Parcells or Jimmy Johnson.

Know of them very well.

Saban was not part of that. He was a different breed that the college level fit him best. The NFL is nothing more than a yes sir, no mam gig. You have no say so. You get your marching orders from above.

To hell with someone telling me what I am going to do each and every day. I would easily go back to college football and run my own ship.

College football is 100x's better than NFL on any given day.

He couldn’t win because he couldn’t cheat. It’s that simple. Don’t blame the league for his failure.
