Why don't you take a blind stab in the dark?
1 TAM has Johnny Mainziel, the Heisman winner
2 TAM has a lot of alumni on the Cotton Bowl Selection Committe.
3 TAM beat Bama this year.
4 All of the above.
If Oklahoma had gotten a BCS bowl and Texas was in the Cotton, LSU would be the choice because the Lonhorns don't want any part of being humiliated by the Aggies in the Cotton Bowl.

No, not really. We already have been in that situation before and it was fine when we had a good turnout for Aggies in the Cotton and opened the next year with Oregon there.
I actually think it is a good question. I do not understand why the Cotton thought OU and Aggie was their dream match up. Most of the OU people I talk with are not really that fired up about seeing Aggie so soon, I mean this is the first year that they left the Big 12 behind. Could more understand that appeal if it had been 4-5 years ago.
Why didn't the Cotton want to pair OU and LSU? Stoops against the HAT...seems to me that game would have drawn more national interest. OU Aggie just looks like an extension of the same old thing when they played as conference schools.

But they sold out their ticket allotment before noon the day following the announcement of the bowl's matchup. Good for third fastest in program history.
Do you really think you--or your handful of OU pals--can better ascertain the pulse of the OU fan base relative to the selection committee?
I mean, really?
