It makes more sense than Tennessee fans rallying around and boasting about a mediocre coach that will be out of a job in two more seasons.

Fulmer did not win anything of significance in his final 10 years on the job and was responsible for the beginning of the downward spiral Tennessee is arguably still on today.
No hate but he certainly shouldn't have been extended. Should have been fired after 2005 tbh.

Because we want him to keep kicking Tennessee's arse.

Why do aggys hate Sherman so much? All he did was bring in the most talent aggy has seen since the 80s.
He was against the SEC move.

2-0 against your beloved CBJ.

I don't know Dale at all but the jist I often get on this board is that there is no such thing as football outside of the SEC. So when OSU or Fla State wins it's a fluke and the Big 12 (though containing 3 of the historic powerhouses of college football) history is irrelevant. The SEC has had a good run, and I enjoy being in a conference that isn't held hostage by Texas, but the Big 12 has been in 6 or 7 BCS title games themselves.

And the SEC has been in double that. The talent in the SEC is far and away better than any other conference, and if you can't see that, you're in serious denial.

Huh? I said that there are threads all the time about 2000-2015 etc where A&M and Mizzou are blown off like somehow the Big 12 was the Ohio Valley Conference or something. (Like the post we were responding to that seriously doubted Mizzou was a game away from the national title game in 2007. Because it didn't happen in the SEC somehow Mizzou was never #1 in the country the last week of the season) Never said the SEC wasn't the football conference. I said Texas, OU, Neb, OSU, KState... have always had some solid/sometimes elite teams with Baylor and TCU up there recently.

Dale - I know you want to forget the 2008 Cotton Bowl. Your boy McFadden was suppose to run all-over us. Well, our man and MVP Tony Temple ran for the Cotton Bowl rushing record. Mizzou kicked the piglets so hard...they liked it. 38-7. McFadden was a non-factor. Easy win, fly home with the trophy.

Sure, Mizzou has come close to a shot at the title and haven't quite reached it yet. It happens. That pretty well describes where the Arkansas program was stuck for most of the 70's to be honest. They've won back to back East titles and unless they jump the rails this season are in good shape to contend for a third title in a row. That is nothing to sneer at.
Under the circumstances why not extend Pinkel? Yes, he is at the tail end of his career and he probably wouldn't want to go somewhere else. But eventually he will retire. No one wants to start shopping for a new quality HC while dragging along the reputation as being cheapskates who lowballed their best HC in decades. There probably aren't a ton of coaches out there saying "Hey, I got to get me some of that low paying and disrespectful action. Never mind all the other offers I have on the table!"

He isn't going anywhere else at his age. Reminds me of Hamilton doing the same thing for Fulmer when he was never leaving Tennessee.
No big mystery.
If he wasn't given a raise, he would have been the lowest paid HC in the SEC (sans non-reporting Vandy).
That's not acceptable for the coach of the team that has won the last two East division titles.
EDIT: I hate spelling errors.

Nothing like beating a team in a bowl who has an interim coach
