More than potential ratings goes into picking these things. WLOCP is located in a very media friendly place - that lowers costs and can mean a higher overall profit, makes anchors happy, and means there's plenty of local stringers to choose from and hire for covering a once a year sporting event.

Besides, why wouldn't they WLOCP? UGA and UF have huge fanbases and national brand recognition.
