Lie to me and say that just seeing this doesn't have a vampiric emotional effect. :coco2:

There's a whole street of bars filled with young Texas gals to help with that

And there it is again.
I'm no longer surprised.

I was talking about good food, drinks, and friends.
But it appears our respective operational definitions of "hospitality" differ.

Haven't you ever been in a room with someone -- you know the kind -- everything they say, intentionally or otherwise, just kills the mood. It gets to where just being near him or her just fricking bums you out because you know as soon as they open their mouth, any prospect of fun you might have been about to have is done.

People like that are emotional vampires, man.

It can also come with associations. If you have enough bad experiences with a person, place or thing, going near it -- hell, even thinking about it -- just makes you want to go home and go to bed.

Ahhh ... I know exactly what you're talking about.
That carolinaswamper cat.
Buzz kill, for sure.

Exactly. Some of those photos of the buildings on the A&M campus actually start to look monochrome, even though you know they're taken in full color.

Yeah, but it isn't the only variable. In order to nap, you have to get the frick away from the emotional vampire first.

I'm a lady.
When I refer to hospitality, I mean just that.
Nuthin' untoward.
We take guests very seriously in CStat.
Don't like to hear about someone leavin' town with a frown, that's all.

That's lousy.
Sounds like you chose very poorly, in every way possible!
Why were you alone?
And why did you stay in a shitty hotel?
Next time you visit, let some of us know, and we'll show you why Texas A&M hospitality is legendary.
?

God damnit. I want to be an arse, but now I can't. I'm holding you to this though, and I will make you meet me in CS when I have to inevitably go back (sister in-law is a student).

Yeah, there's much beige & khaki in the motherland.
We don't notice it, to be honest.

Hats off; y'all must be made of sterner stuff. Plus, isn't that part of Texas rather flat, geographically?
