OM seems to have every advantage in permanently passing State as a football program.

It has more money, more political influence, and is in a better geographic area in MS with proximity to Memphis for recruiting.

The town is better, the co-eds hotter, etc.

Ole miss has Out recruited State recently by a large measure and historically by a decernable measure as well.

Why can't OM permently pass State in the same way Bama has Auburn, Iowa has ISU or Michigan has Michigan State?

I mean, Ole Miss leads everything in the overall series, much like those other rivalries you mentioned. However, most of these rivalries are neck and neck the last 25 years or so.

Ole Miss vs MSU
Record : Ole Miss 63-44-6
Bowl Games : Ole Miss 37, MSU 19
All Time Win % : Ole Miss 56.2%, MSU 49.0%
SEC Titles : Ole Miss 6, MSU 1

However, the last 25 years :
- Mississippi State leads Ole Miss 13-12
- Alabama leads Auburn 13-12
- Michigan leads Michigan State 13-12
- Iowa State leads Iowa 14-11

So, it's actually pretty similar to other rivalries.

Inquiring minds want to know. It's as if God dislikes OM.

That's good info but begs the question, why no separation in recent times with so many advantages?

The 2016 Ole Miss-Mississippi State matchup will be the 113th meeting between the two schools and the 87th Egg Bowl. Ole Miss holds a 63-43-6 advantage in the all-time series dating back to 1901, and the Rebels hold a 57-26-5 edge in the "Egg Bowl."

Correction; we've owned that arse since 1926

Why can't they attract better coaches?

Because they have to hire a coach that is willing to risk their future coaching career by allowing their boosters to be the recruiting coordinators. Their boosters won't go after the big name because the big names won't let the boosters run the program. By boosters I mean Archie, the Blindside Crew and their minions.

Make no mistake about it, Archie was in charge of making the last hire. He said they were going to conduct a "national search". Who did they end up with? The tuohy's adopted 5* son's high school football coach. The same high school football coach that was hired by ole miss in 2005 just 20 days after Oher signed. A year after that he was promoted to recruiting coordinator, and his co-recruiting coordinator was none other than David Saunders, who received a 10 year show cause last year.

They don't hire good coaches because they hire puppets.
