So the Iron Bowl is not a rivalry?

LSU fans aren't exactly known for having a "stroke of genius" moments.

No, they aren't a program that you face annually that regularly gives you trouble.
Aside from 2011, Arkansas and Ole Miss have given LSU trouble several times in the past several seasons, which is odd considering LSU's coaching staff, program, and talent. These close games shouldn't happen too often. Arkansas and Ole Miss haven't been recruiting on Tennessee and Auburn's level, and the latter two programs actually accomplished more in the BCS era.

"we stole your coach thing" probably stings.

That's a stupid, inaccurate sentiment.
Saban voluntarily left LSU for Miami.
After 2 years, he decided that the college game was more suitable for him. Alabama just happened to be open at that time, and he took that job.
What some LSU fans are actually expressing is envy and anger towards what Saban has accomplished at Alabama because it has pushed LSU back to being the second best program in the West. LSU is no longer the flagship of the conference. 21-0 appears to have pushed back LSU even further. LSU nearly settled things in 2012 but failed. 38-17 the following season didn't help LSU's cause. The LSU program still has the bitter taste of 21-0 in their mouths and Alabama has added 2 more soul-crushing losses to LSU's slate since then. The gap between the programs is immeasurable. LSU fans are probably longing for the days of being the best again.

Because it doesn't feel like a rivalry most of the time.

This has a lot to do with it as well. All of these great stories and decades of relative evenness has the later generations completely underwhelmed with the current state of the rivalry.

LSU hates LOSING to Ole Miss. They don't think they have won the Super Bowl because they beat them. Ole Miss alums even act like that horse shite. Ones that never stepped on the field. It is an embarrassment to sports as a whole.

If this is your premise for a rivalry then the egg bowl isn't a rivalry either. It's as much about who you hate losing to as it is who you love beating
