The denial and deflection is awesome. No one said you had no quality fans. However, killing another fan b/c they weren't upset enough, the tea bagger, and crazy diving fighter bitch are pretty good indicators of serious issues.

It starts, in my opinion, with these tards calmly wanting their babies signed etc. Its tragic but to try and explain it away is almost as sad. Keep trying to make it seem normal if that makes you feel better

Alabama posters brought a lot of the grief they received in this thread on themselves. All you had to do was say Updyke and the lady who killed her friend after the Iron Bowl last year are nuts and then this thread would have ended. Your spinning, deflecting, and ridiculous comparisons just made things worse

As an Alabama alumnus, people like Updyke and this crane operator anger me. I feel almost apologetic for their actions, but then realize they have zero affiliation with the school itself.

Alabama has one of the most passionate fan bases, which is part of the lure to go to college or play football there... but it obviously has its drawbacks when trash like this take it to a completely unnecessary level.

Only a Bama fan could make people say, "Oh, now that's going too far" on Bourbon Street.

Oh well, at least it taught an important lesson - don't drink if you can't handle your alcohol and don't pass out in a dangerous location...or crowded restaurant...however you want to phrase it.

being from Alabama living in Tuscaloosa and a lifelong Auburn fan of almost 50 years, i think i`ve come to understand the differences in the two fan bases. Both fan bases are obsessed with their teams but now the differences. To a large majority of Bama fans, winning, national championships,Sec titles is their sense of worth. There seems to be very little affection for the college itself or the city of Tuscaloosa, thats why they don`t care if they lose a home game to play in Dallas or Atlanta where as Auburn fans tend to want every possible home game in Auburn, our version of going home for Christmas. AU tends to be more about the rivalries than and the big "family reunion"
These differences are what makes the Bama fringe more volatile the fringe fans worth is tied to winning only and if that doesn`t happen bad things do.

I completely disagree... if you went to school there, then the school & town are essentially part of your life. I think this is true for pretty much all of the schools in the SEC. Think your bias because you went to Auburn.

Majority? Seriously?

This entire thread is proof that the same is true of fans of rival schools too. They simply have nothing to live for outside of what is happening within Alabama football.
