Of Course it was mostly on the backs of Barron, Hood, and Ivan etc.

All McCarron had to do was hand it off and throw deep bombs to Hood and Barron who were wide open. He never had to do anything difficult.

He had a so so senior year

Yeah, because the ones who were making him look good left. They still had some good players, but not D1 talent that made AJ look 100x better.

I have no problems with AJ and I am pretty excited to see what he can do running the show. I still want Sims to get some good PT in case AJ goes down though. I am not a believer in sitting one guy on the bench every game when there are chances for him to play just because. It's obvious that AJ can make every throw and puts up a beautiful pass every time.

This Bama team will have to pass because there is no Ingram in the backfield.

If we have to pass it will have little to do with who is in the backfield. Both guys back there right now are NFL runningbacks, one of which will be picked in the 1st or 2nd round.

McCarron had no problem throwing down field on UT last year. Alot of those 200 plus yards Julio had came from McCarron passes.

He had 67 yards passing against Tenn....

I think McCarron is what everyone in college football fears. An Elite QB at Alabama.

Decent, yes. Elite. LULZ. He loves to force the ball, he thinks he has a Ryan Mallett arm.

Elite? McCarron? I don't think so Tim.
It has been a few years since Bama has had an elite caliber of QB and I hate to be the bearer of bad news but he ain't it. Luckily in yalls situation right now,you could take a mediocre QB and have a helluva offense

It is a huge assumption that Bama fans are "doubting" McCarron. We have a lot of fans -- who knows what all those people are thinking? And who cares? Most of them, like me, know next to nothing about football and are incapable of evaluating QB's or anything else football related. That doesn't prevent them from prominently displaying their pseudo expertise on message boards.

They can "ramer jammer" you if we win.

I'm not doubting him. I've said since last year he'd be the starter this year. I also think he played pretty well last Saturday.

One of the most important things you must understand about Bama fans, and it is universal, is that the best quarterback is always the one on the bench.

I've seen McCarron play several times, as he went to HS at St Pauls, who we play every year

What did you think of Coker?

McElwain turned ginger into a decent QB. He also got JPW in the league even if it was a brief appearance.

He coaches QBs with the best of them and McCarron is the most talented one he has had to work with by far.

Spot on.

Our backfield is stronger this year than last. Fowler averaged over 17 YPC & Lacey averaged over 7 YPC.

You have no way of knowing that

A-Mac was the #4 rated QB coming out of HS, Sims was the #1 rated. We'll be fine at the QB position. McElwain is an excellent QB coach.

I think Mccarron will do well. I can't wait to see the chest tatted Bama boy beat everyone. Will be fun to watch.
