Saw that, we had a summer slump and have roared back in hype. Not my preference but whatever.

I'm always really wary of the late action...that is, stock rising suddenly toward the end. Example, in the 2005 NFL draft, Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers were considered to be nearly dead even prospects...then late, Alex Smith's stock took off and Rogers sank. Smith went 1 overall and Aaron Rogers fell all the way to 24th. Nothing happened to cause this...there wasn't a workout or an injury or a personal problem that everyone found out about...it's just that someone always likes to step out there with a bold pick..if it's considered sexy enough, the Todd McShay posers of the world jump on board. You see this happen, both up and down, for prospects every year. Terrell Suggs for instance sets the all-time sack record at ASU and is a sure fire top 3 pick...then buoyed by a 4.8 40, dropped off everyone's board and was considered a reach at the time by the Ravens at pick#10. Picked after 4 other defenders that haven't had nearly his success in the league. Go figure...football player can play football. I'm sure Al Davis laughed hysterically at the Ravens pick. But I digress..

The ONLY thing that has happened to vault LSU from maybe #20-ish to going to the playoff is that B.Harris appears to be better than awful. All of the rest of that momentum, is just sexy pick momentum.

I like LSU and I think they'll do well...but I'm sorry, picking them for the playoff has them way overrated.

Nice post with real talk. Lsu is loaded with young talent but do they have the "it factor" needed to win at the elite level of play in the secw? It's essentially the same team that went 8-5 last year But with a new qb starting. They have a lot of question marks at key positions, can those same players improve enough to turn the losses to wins this year. I think they will be better but still struggle with inconsistency in offfense.

Schedule is tough. Laugh all they want at msu but that game will be a lot tougher to win than they think, in think the lose that game due to it being @msu, early in the season with an inexperinced qb, his one road start last year didn't go to well. Dak's experience will be the difference.

Au drilled them last year, have they made up the difference. Good thing is it's at Lsu. That's a toss up game at best for Lsu.

@usce, and @ole miss will both be tough games.

@Bama will be their biggest challenge and imo a loss. Bama will be able to shut down their run game with their front 7(nasty good) and from reports the secondary is much improved(loaded with talent 5+ 5*s and the rest highly rated 4*s, I know inexperienced but same there is a lot of talent)

Then Ark and TAMU are rivalry games both at Lsu so that helps but it Lsu is already out of the secw race do they quit on the season?

Lsu will be better but still lose 4 games. I really think 2016 is their year to be elite but so will Au (JJs 2nd year) and Bama will be really good again. Tough as hell.

I agree with a lot of your points. I was really focusing in on why pundits are suddenly high on LSU. I was just giving my opinion as to why I thought they were or what I see.

There is plenty of questions they will need to answer to fulfill the LSU championship talk, but they have the pieces there to put a run together.

This is what makes 2015 such an exciting year. There are literally 6-7 teams in the West that can take the division. It could also get really ugly because any team can win on any given day. Meaning the West winner could have 1-2 losses going into ATL.

The East has 2-3 teams that could put it together. It is an exciting year for a college football fan like myself.

Even though I really don't understand the national hype all of a sudden (I think we will prob be a 9-3 team). I can understand where they are coming from based off the fact that 1) LSU will compete with anyone in the sec in terms of athleticism and talent. 2) Like LSU, there are many teams in the sec with unproven qb play and a lot of ? At that position

I just don't see how LSU will have the QB play to win the west. Best thing about it is we shall see.

Yep. Could see Bama , Au,and Lsu all at 10-2 at season end. Still think a 11-2 Bama, Au or lsu secc would make the cfpo

Bama loses @uga and @msst(after a hard fought win vs lsu, let down game),

Au loses @lsu and to Bama

Lsu loses @Bama and @msst

MSST loses to Au, ole miss, ark, tamu
