You better hope they can put some points on the board.

If you don't think LSU will run the ball well this year, then you haven't followed our RBs or OL very much.

because he's the only linebacker LSU has

yes that happened last year, and the two guys playing above him will be 1st or 2nd round draft picks when they inevitably leave after their junior seasons. LSU's strongest unit on defense is their secondary. It's one of the strongest units in the country.

95 wins in 10 seasons, average 9.5. If you round up and he rounds down, then you're both right.

The team certainly has the talent and coaching to pull off 10 wins, I think 11 wins will shock the world and I believe it's doable. The inexperience could just as easily lead us to an 8 win season.

The really exciting part of this season is that it's not just LSU with question marks. For once the SEC West isn't just a 2 horse battle. There's 4 teams that could actually pull through this year if the cards fall for them. This could play out to be a very fun season.

2015 is when we really expect LSU to make a run at a title. Would love to see them shock the world and open some eyes this year.

Replacing solid, proven talent with young and unproven talent usually involves a little setback. Some of the typical middle of the road SECw teams are improving and LSU is basically replacing their entire offense. Which in turn means 3rd or 4th in the SECw, IMHO.

There is solid proven talent returning on the O-Line, FB, and RB positions and the entire Defense. Dural has experience and a few TD's at WR.

The only young unproven players are at QB and WR but we already have a proven run game to make it easier for the young guys who are the most talented we have ever had.

No. 2 recruiting class in the nation is best in LSU history

It's THE strongest in the country. And LSU's D line will continue to be athletic and fast.

QB is the biggest question, followed by LB.

But everyone has question marks in every season.

no, not really.

You lost your two starting DTs, Ferguson and Johnson, to the NFL.

And there you were bitching about assumptions.

assumptions? where did I assume a win total? LSU has been successful over the long haul with Miles because of defense and a strong running game. LSU should be much better defensively this year, have a great stable of running backs, and an experienced, veteran, and talented offensive line. That's a reason people shouldn't assume LSU will completely fall down as opposed to me saying they're going automatically win 10 games.

There is talking shite, and there is reality. I'll admit I came in here with the intention of trolling, but I'm not.

Auburn is probably better than LSU this year. But as a sign of being realistic, I don't expect Auburn to run the table this year, I'm sure we'll lose at least one game, and 2-3 losses are certainly possible.

LSU is 5th-7th best at the moment. Could easily move up as the season progresses.

LSU has rotated 8 or more guys on the line for years. Being a starter on DL doesn't mean you were the only guy that played the year prior. And how many times has a "backup" DL come in as a 1st year starter and played as good or better than the guys they replaced? Johnson and Ferguson were a 1st year starters last year. Downs and Logon were first year starters in 2012. You must not have followed LSU football for very long if you think replacing DL has ever been an issue.

Replaced by Rasco (senior) and Hunter (junior) of whom both have had significant playing time.

LBs are Louis (junior), Welter (junior), and Alexander (senior).

the only unproven players on D is Welter due to having a pretty mediocre year, and Ricky Jefferson at SS. Welter is a junior and Jefferson is a sophomore.

Don't you guys lose most of your defensive line?
Half, and that half largely underperformed last year. We are returning Lacouture who played very well last year as a true freshman. We have inexperience and not alot of depth, but the starting unit will still be better than most SEC schools.

Hopefully Beckwith can win that job sooner rather than later.

Yes.... And this will be a huge positive for us. He has always had the netural instincts of a guy that cannot be left off the feild, but his coverage skills were lacking. He will thrive at safety like he did against Iowa.
