quote:Ummmm.... Auburn put up 630 yards on Bama last year... with Nick Marshall responsible for 505 of those yards...
550 total yards and 6 TDs against Bama. He had more yards himself than any other TEAM has gained on Bama since Saban's arrival.

The greatest I've seen? Well, the guy in my sig was pretty awesome.
Yup, I enjoyed the hell out of watching Connor Shaw play. Johnny Manziel was a great player despite his troubles off the field. AJ McCarron was also pretty fun to watch.

Tebow
Young
Cam
In that order. Tebow's leadership qualities, in my opinion, set him apart as the best College QB of the group. Cam would be higher if he had more than 1 season of work to show.

Tebow has 2 national titles and more awards than any other QB I'm pretty sure. So I'm going to say he is right there with anyone. Single season Young still takes the cake though. 2005 was the greatest show by a QB I have ever seen.

Since college rewards the ability for QBs to physically dominate I would probably say Vince Young and Cam Newton.

Tebow. Cam's one year was awesome too.

Michael Vick. He single handedly took VA Tech to the title game.
Tim Tebow ' s 2007 season was also unreal.

Tebow, inside and out of the football field. One of the greatest competititors ever.

All of the Cam responses sound like the Bo is best NFL back responses. They're full of homerism.
Statistically, Tebows sophomore season was superior. The way Cam elevated that Auburn team, which was maybe top 25 at best, is significant and worthy of debate.
In both instances, Cam and Bo, there simply isn't enough data developed over time to crown either of them. But plenty of greatness in their brief flashes to supply an argument.
Tebow finished 1,3,5 in the Heisman, won two NCs, and lost a 3rd to one of Sabans machines. I don't know of any QB who accomplished more than Tebow and UF has flat out sucked since he left. Auburn plugged in Nick Marshall and returned to the NC 3 years after Cam.

What. Their defense was #1 in the sec against the run. Whole Cam made them significantly better, saying they were "MAYBE" a top 25 team is rediculous.
6 different player were drafted off that 2010 team.

I love Cam I still do, I would put Freshman Jameis, Manziel and Young up there too.
Who's in yours?
Mallett.

The best QB's make those around them better. Some Heisman winners have simply been products of their teammates. Jameis was definitely a product of his team his freshman season.
Manziel was special...but I'm not sure what I would call him "best". Mike Evans bailed him out ALOT. There is something to be said about having "it" though, and he did have it.
Vince Young is easily Top 5, if not #1. Run, Pass, put the tam on his back, he did it all for multiple years.
Cam was a bigger version of Vince Young. That season was incredible. But, IMO, you need to prove it more than one year to be considered the GOAT. Don't get me wrong, dude was incredible, but multiple QB's have shown letdowns in performance after 1 season. Maybe it would have happened, maybe not, but you do have to respect what he did.
The way the game has evolved over the years, it really is hard to compare. Guys like Archie Manning, Tommie Frazier, Leinart, Staubach, Flutie, and multiple others are just too hard to compare to todays players.
But if I had to give you one answer (for college), it would be Vince Young.

This. I will always remember him scrambling for the first down on 3rd and 32 when Texas came to Mizzou. It wasn't just him outrunning people; it was him finding a hole on a broken play and juking Mizzou's defenders outta their socks.

In person?
Johnny Football was an arse but absolutely exciting to watch.
Eli Manning. Before I get called a homer, that dude could make throws you don't see many college qbs make and it wasn't like his team was a bunch of heroes. Had trouble staying on his feet while dropping back though.
Also saw Tebow. He was pretty good too.
