Auburn. I'm surprised that coaching can make all the difference. I mean, even UK could have given War Eagle a game last year.

Malzahn may be the next Saban.

Mizzou.

I'm just glad AU is relevant again. Last year sucked donkey dicks.

you could easily argue mizzou was more beat up last last than any SEC team this year.

well, since mizzou is going to be 8-4 probably ant end of year, and we will most likely be 11-1, I would say ours.

Not sure but it is only fitting that Mizzou and Auburn meet in Atlanta this year.

Mizzou....I expected Auburn to improve, I expected Mizzou would be a repeat of last year. Wrong as hell.

Mizzou.

Everyone looked at them as the team that doesn't belong. They're too far north to be SEC. They had a lame duck coach. They had inferior talent. They had a small stadium with fans that aren't as passionate as the rest of us.

Now they're possibly going to Atlanta?

This.

Also, who knew the East would be such a dumpster fire? The stars have definitely aligned for Mizzou. I hadn't watched much of Mizzou until FL game, they looked impressive with a backup QB.

Auburn- I expected Auburn to be good, and I think deep down, many SEC fans realized that there was still talent on the plains. A&M was a huge win for Auburn this year, just like it was a huge loss last year (nail in the coffin).

Auburn has the most impressive win and none of Mizzouri's opponents are ranked.

Ummm...we just beat two ranked teams in a row, one of them on the road. And we were underdogs in both. They may not be ranked now, but they were when we beat them, by 15 and 19 points respectively.

I don't get the need by some Auburn fans to compare the two teams, especially since we don't play this year. Are we really in y'alls heads that much?

Oh, and...

Auburn - they didn't win a game last year didn't they? The East is too far down to say Mizzou even though they have been impressive to say the least. JMHO

Your lame duck 'the east is down' stuff is relentless on here.

UGA defense had no one injured. We torched them. They also had a SR qb that owns SEC records. I don't care that they had to use their 3rd string WR who was probably a 4 star recruit.

FLA defense was all that, until we destroyed them. I don't want to here an excuse.

SCar has the #1 draft pick on their defense.

UK is better than it's been.

Vandy is solid.

TN is much better than they have been.

They're just jealous. If this was the old SEC, no one would be talking about anything but Auburn's "surprising resurgence." Now even ESPN talking heads are talking Mizzou. I'm not stupid enough (or I've been a Mizzou fan too long) to believe the hype about us. But it's a nice ride.

Auburn's a big 6. We're supposed to get back to being competitive.

Don't know which AU fan posted this, but I think it sums up the angst I sense from several in your fan base, here on SECr.

Auburn is having a great year and their fans are jubilant. They are very excited and expected to be in the limelight. The fact that Mizzou is getting more attention from other fan bases in the SEC and the media, has them a little jelly. They may also perceive Mizzou as a threat to their "big 6" rank.

I don't think this applies any way to the actual Auburn fan base. Just several repeat posters here on the rant.

It appears to be that Mizzou vs Auburn would be a great match up. Hell, they may even make it happen this year, if Mizzou and AU can stay on their roll.

While I think Malzahn is a great coach, this team would have been a lot better than last year's with anyone other than Chizik. It seemed the players didn't want to play for him. I had never seen an Auburn team that pitiful, and as soon as Chizik was fired the whole program seemed to have a change in attitude, like they actually believed they could be a lot better and were excited for this season, before Malzahn was even hired. Having three years worth of recruits after winning a natty doesn't hurt either. I'm much more impressed with Mizzou and what they've done with what they had to work with.
