Right. Your argument of "I haven't personally seen it so it obviously doesn't exist" is certainly a compelling one.

I'm not sure why you are linking stories from Louisiana. You're the only one getting offended and saying the shite doesn't happen in your state.

again, show me where i said this. I just ask why the l5u fans are so obsessed with the subject. Like they say, if it's on your mind, it's in your heart.

Thought this thread would have a decent discussion. I was wrong.

I say it's equal.

typical of a L5U fan... use of quotation marks and the quotation function to post nothing close to what was said. But enjoy your sick fantasies...i'm out.

Arguing Bretmans run is anything close to Saban's is the equivalent of arguing the greatest Varsity B basketball coaches run was the same.

I think it's Saban and it's not even close. College baseball has been a system that often doesn't get the best players. Many of them go straight to the minors. Obviously Bert,an is was the best in his business. That is always impressive. But considering how much more the general public cares about football I would say it's Saban is more impressive and it's not really close.

Who's run was more impressive, Skip Bertman or Nick Saban
by cajunbama

Saban's is infinitely more impressive. No one even knows or cares who this Bretman fellow is.

And no one knew or cared who that Saban fellow was in January of 2000, 5 months before that "Bretman fellow" won his 5th national championship.

Bertman's is infentesimally more impressive.

Well since he won nearly all his titles before Saban won his first then his must be more impressive.

LSU found a sport in college baseball no one cared about in the 1990's. They were getting destroyed in football so they put a disproportionate amount of effort into college baseball compared to other schools so they dominate

LSU started putting effort into college baseball in the 80s on the heels of SEC titles and Orange Bowls in football and final fours in basketball, but yeah

Both are tGOAT in their respective sport, IMO. Equally impressive careers.

Agreed ... both are tGOATs, but one had the benefit of unlimited funds and a long historical tradition to recruit behind while the other basically built something from scratch, for the most part.

I'd give the nod to Skip.

Skip did it using limited/partial scholarships on a very tight budget and through exceptional coaching from a strategic and developmental standpoint ... and with very limited assistance.

Saban's organization is a beast which includes a ton of assistants, support personnel and logistical support that is unparalleled in all of college sports.

I will add, what Skip left, his legacy as well as the buildings ... he was a very good AD and he got a lot of new projects built, and funded, as AD. LSU's facilities are second to none.

Saban will never be an AD.

Skip Bertman is a special person any way you cut it.
