I've always thought UGA was a very attractive job.

If UGA smashed their instate rival into oblivion like we did Tulane, they'd be able to fence in that hotbed of talent a little better. They historically have some great guys that come from Georgia.

It's no different than any city in the South not named Miami.

Florida has everything they need to win big, I am surprised that they have not won more.

Since 1990, when Spurrier came on the scene, Florida is the 2nd winningest team in all of college football. Boise State just barely nudges them out.

Since 1983 (the season after Bear died), Florida is #5 in wins. Tennessee, Auburn and Georgia check in at 9, 10 and 11 respectively. Bama is #16. LSU is #17.

So the Gators have been winning quite a bit over the last 30 years. More than any other SEC school.

In the long run, Florida should continue to do quite well. In the short run, Saban has Bama rolling like Bear did in his prime.

If you think Oklahoma is no good because it's in Oklahoma, but LSU is great because it's in Louisiana, then there's not a lot of debate on the subject.

Oklahoma is worse than any state in the SEC. To say that Louisiana is not a better state than Oklahoma is out of spite.

The landmass is better than Oklahoma. Have you ever been there? OKC is garbage and the land is flat and ugly. Lots of dirt fields.

As much as I couldn't care less about new Orleans, to a kid, it's a big deal. Alabama Mississippi and Louisiana aren't great. We all have the coast and we all have some outstanding hunting and fishing. Not necessarily relative to recruits but to say Oklahoma is on any of our levels is asinine. The state just sucks in general.

I disagree. It might not be Miami, but just about anywhere on the coast is is a Decent place to live. There's stuff to do. Every state on the coast has some great outdoors and scenery. New Orleans, bay st Louis, Tuscaloosa, Bham, baton rouge, etc. not great cities, but not complete shite like Oklahoma.

Have you ever been to Oklahoma?

UF is the best job in the fricking country.

If you don't win at UF, you're a fricking moron.

OU is in major trouble down the road. A&M 's move to the SEC will hurt them big time. Their desire is to stay tied to tu and they will suffer for it. I could see them going the way of Nebraska very soon

Are you basing your assumption that UF and LSU are in better position long term, due to Alabama's current run of success? Meaning, they can't continue to win like they have been, so it would be better to be a challenger, rather than the defending champ?

How many recuits does UGA lose to tech? It can't be that many, if any. Georgia seems to lose recruits to schools from other states, not in-state rivals.

Not saying tech is stealing all their recruits, but if they became the only school in the state other schools wouldn't cherry pick out their back yard.

Tulane wasn't always known, or rather unknown, as they are today. Now it's either go to LSU or leave the state. And there are very few destinations kids leave Louisiana for when they have an LSU offer.

If UGA went long enough with its boot on techs throat they can start that process.

Not necessarily true, the 90 saw a lot of Louisiana talent leave in particular to FLa St. When LSU is winning hardly anyone leaves but when LSU is struggling every top program in the country knows the talent in this state.

Eta: My rank would be GA, FLa, LSU( no rival or instate school), then Bama( still has Auburn to contend with)

UF probably has the best athletic department in D-I. I honestly don't know of a sport that they suck in.

FIFY. People tend to gloss over the fact that LSU was ranked 13th in all time win percentage in 1989 before our darkest decade started. By 1999, we fell to around 17 or 18. We're back up to 12 now, I believe. Not discrediting what Saban did, but LSU isn't UF. We actually have a winning history before the 90s.

I tend to agree here. Bama, AU, UF, and LSU all have had success in pulling the GA talent away from UGA. If UGA could find a way to do a better job of keeping that homegrown talent at home, I think they'd extend that streak over UF.

2013 baseball is going to suck I'm afraid due to the loss of all those seniors and the drafting of our best recruits. We are thin at pitching and can't hit the ball right now. Even more scary than that, we can field either. I bet we have 124 errors so far this year.
