LSU is returning like 80% of our offensive touches. The offense will be worlds better next season.

Yall have a QB?

No & LSU was still able to beat aTm. That fact alone should make the answer to the OP quite evident.

A&M's defense will be more improved than LSU's offense, and LSU's defense will slip a little bit. However, A&M's defense still won't be at the level of LSU's next season.

That all said, it wouldn't surprise me at all if LSU's defense comes out of the gate like gangbusters next season with a new defensive scheme - only to start slipping as more teams get film on them and identifying weaknesses. That's not all that uncommon when initiating a new defense, it takes people by surprise until they have time to figure it out. I'm thinking A&M's defense could surpass LSU's defense by 2016-17 if LSU doesn't take further steps to maintain their high level of play.

The truth I think LSU has a much her ceiling. IF we reach our potential we will be infinitely better than A&M has a chance of being on defense.

Is this serious? What makes you think either LSU's offense or A&M's defense has a specific ceiling?

there is way more talent on LSU's offense than on A&M's defense.

There just isn't no denying it.

If LSU gets good QB play they could be a good to great Offense
A&M doesn't have the players to be a great defense.

But since improvement is a relative metric, isn't all this a POSITIVE for us?

Like all we need is Chavis and a few good (not even great) D recruits to get significantly better, while LSU needs a lot more work just to get a little better because the talent was already there?

LSU hasn't had an offense in at least half a decade why would I think next year would be different.

Except that one year we had 2 1k yard receivers and a 1k yard RB.... You know, the year before last. But go ahead and keep making shite up.

You still have all the same position coaches on D right? The only thing that's gonna change is your scheme.

Except for Garrett and Allen, LSU is more talented at ever other position on the field

So far. Who knows we might shake things up when names are on the LOI, I don't know.

And some of the personnel.

I would argue our WR group is more talented on paper. But the point isn't A&M vs LSU, it is who improves more.

LSU could be the better team and A&M could still be the most improved.

This is opinionated conversation so just give it and move a long. No need to try to convince anybody because it is an opinion not fact. We will know next August who improves more

It is not an opinion more improved is a relative metric and not a comparison of the teams. That is a fact.

Dear God! Aggie gonna Aggie

There is no humanly way possible to gauge any improvement and to say there is goes way beyond retarded! There are so many unknowns involved that no metric could measure a damn thing

Just because we can't compare the relative differences properly doesn't mean that most improved isn't a relative metric. I agree that even after the season we really can't answer this thread properly, but that doesn't mean the best way to handle the issue is to directly compare the two programs.

Since relative metric is a mathmatical measurement how can this be applied to who will be most improved. There are to many unknowns to even plug in an equation.

Just because we can't compare the results between the two teams in regards to improvement doesn't mean that we can't measure improvement for each team. I can look at total yard allowed, or some other metric, to measure if A&M got better. Same for LSU on the offense. Football is full of those metrics.

The results can't be compared directly between offense and defense but the relative improment can be measured.

Only after the season ends can we establish facts. Right now this is just opinion based

I completely agree 100%
