That being said, they lack a lot of the things Chavis needs to succeed.
No MLB (this ruins is essential to his system)
NO man cover corners
Weak DL (outside Miles Garrett who will thrive in Chavis's system)

They will be better, but will be limited by personal.

The DL wasnt bad last year and we return pretty much everyone. We are going to have a whole bunch of 3 and 4 year players in our 2 deep in addition to Garrett as a Sophmore.

LB and DB are huge question marks although it looks like we have some talent.

you need 3 things at minimum to succeed with Chavis's defense

DE who can pass rush- Miles Garrett is elite, and will flourish in this system.
CB who can play man
Solid MLB play

Obviously i don't watch A&M play, but judging from he LSU game,a dn the states you don't have the secondary or the MLB. Maybe you do, but defense is half personnel. You aren't going to be a last place defense with good players.

Tough to say right now. Will Jennings be the QB? Can A&M find competent LBs?

there's a difference between not having an offense and not having a passing game.

Many believe BH will be the guy. Truth is if the new recruit shows any potential he might be the guy. Too early to tell

IMHO LSU is only one piece away from vastly improving from last season no offense. aTm it is a different story with them if they land Mack their d line will be straight but linebackers and secondary needs help.

I expect A&M's defense to be vastly improved.

LSU still has a huge question mark at QB. I think the lack of good QB play will prevent too much improvement.

We obviously can't be any worse and because our room for improvement is greater I have to say without a doubt LSU

If we hadn't got a new QB recruit this year you would be right, but we did and there is no way possible to know this yet

You can't depend on a true freshman to come in and make a major impact at QB.

Some of the best QBs as of late, Winston, Manziel, Mariota, etc. all redshirted their freshman year.

And you can't say with a 100% accuracy that he won't make a difference

If I was a LSU fan, I would be more hopeful that Brandon Harris wins the starting job. There is usually a big improvement from FR to SO year at the QB position.

Not even remotely sold on Jennings though.

You mean he has to take MORE time off from the Magic? We're screwed.

I don't think anyone in the state of Louisiana is sold on Jennings except for maybe Miles
