you and me are not playing but right now I would give your team a slight edge with the game at your place.

Unless NCAA probation rears its ugly head and bites your assess

You are right that 1st year QB's at Alabama have had unbelievable success. Saban has broken in 4 so far, and all of them have won either a SEC title, a national title or both.

What we also know is Saban almost always goes with the older guys who can manage the offense. Which means Bateman as a RS Junior is the guy to beat. Cornwell is pushing him which is good. The two young guys--Barnett and Hurts--are studs and true duel-threat guys but likely aren't ready to manage the offense as well as an older guy like Bateman or Cornwell. I sort of expect to see a couple of guys get chances in the first couple of weeks.

They are loaded with top recruits, so probably a transfer.

We can't help the FACT, that Saban has had 4 first year QB's and every single one of them won hardware. I know that sucks for our rivals, but we have every reason to believe that whoever Saban/Kiffin put out there this fall will be highly successful and have us in the title hunt as usual.

Probably Bateman by reading my tea leaves. The truth was already stated on this thread...Bama has had an awesome defense almost every year + a fricking monster OL. You only need a QB who wont beat his own team with mistakes.

Not going to bet against Saban but my tea leaves also lead me to believe that this is the year that the west could be wrestled away from Saban...and I say that not knowing the full extent of the roster...but the OL has two premier type players and?? And Bama has lost a lot of talent coupled with new QB. Not saying they dont win the west but this would be the year that it could happen.

LSU could be the team to beat and we will do our best to hang an L on them for you guys. Ole Miss, AU, Arkie ?? I wont include Moo State who might drop off a bit...A&M? I cant keep up with QB changes. Will be another dogfight on saturdays.

The Bama D will be elite this year as well. Some in our camp think it could be as good or better than last year, with the secondary improving and getting older. As far as our OL, we haven't had a dominant line since 2012. Decent but not dominant. Our OL this year will be decent again, and possibly very good.

Bama returns 3 starters on the OL, including the best LT in the country. Cotton is a sophomore guard who is dominating in practices and will win a spot...leaving only the RT spot in question. Looks like a battle between a veteran in Kirven and 5-star freshman Jonah Williams. Should be one of the top 2-3 lines in the SEC.

LSU returns so much, they have to be the favorites. Ole Miss will be dangerous as well. No one else in the West concerns me this year. I'm guessing Bama splits the LSU/OM games...not sure if that gets us the West or not, but I like our chances as well as anyone.

Actually, it's what they return which would keep them from being the favorites.

But can any of them beat Ole Miss? nevermind, both of us already know the answer to that question

Saban is 11-3 against Ole Miss. Alabama is 48-11-2. So I guess we do know the answer.

Saban will wait until after the Ole Miss game to name a permanent starter.

Day one starter will most likely be Bateman. Cornwall has a shot. The other two don't seem realistic at this point.

Jeff Dunn is coming back. He's 45 but he has 5 years of eligibility left and Saban is now a Ford dealer!

too early to say but sounds like hes got some Johnny Football in him.

Not sure if any of these guys will be worth a damn but they are all pretty athletic. Most of the battle right now seems to be between Bateman and Cornwell and they probably have the largest contrast of any two QBs on the roster. Cornwell is the slowest and Bateman is the fastest. Cornwell has probably the strongest arm and Bateman has probably the weakest arm. But whichever one has the better accuracy will likely be the quarterback.

Still a long way to go to answer this question though. Still technically a four man race.
