He would get more yards if they had a better QB and competent coaching. He got neither and it cost him the Heisman trophies and SEC titles.

He was hard to defend but not hard enough as in a three year period, Arkansas went 18-16. One West title, no SEC title, no bowl victories and no Heisman. All that hard work and nothing to show for it.

Lol!

Bo ran a 4.13 40 yard dash. Herschel wasn’t faster. That’s insanely dumb.

Herschel was faster.
Herschel Walker ran a 6.12 60 yard dash in a 1981 track meet.
Bo Jackson's record in the 55 yard dash (still a record at auburn) was 6.18 seconds.

Herschel has the faster 100 meter time as well (10.1 to 10.44 for Bo).

If you have been around a long time Then keep digging in your archives … Hershel or Bo are the greatest ever ! Arguments can be made for both , but equally the greatest backs ever to grace a SEC field

This. Not often I agree with a Georgia fan but if your answer is anyone other than Walker or Jackson you’re in denial. Henry couldn’t hold either ones jockstraps.

Walker… there is no comparison.. He could of and should have won the Heisman his Freshman and Soph years as well. In todays environment , he would have.. they didn’t give it to underclassmen back then.

Hershall was the only option for UGA for those 3 years. Bo was in the wishbone for over half his career and shared the ball with Lionel James, Brent Fullwood and Tommie Agee who were all 3 all pro in their own right. Look at 1983 at Bo's season. He had over 120 less carries than HW lowest total and still rushed for 1300 yards against 6 top 10 teams. Bo had one season in which he was even close to HWs lowest carry total and in that season Bo rushed for more yards than HW ever did in any season.

IMO they are the two top without a doubt. Bo had better feet and more exceleration and looks to be a step faster. HW looked to have more natural power and had great speed too but not as natural.

He pulled himself from the UT and Ole Miss games in 1985 after their defenses rocked that arse for him.

Yeah you are misrembering the 1985 OM game. I was at that game and it was the most one sided college football i have ever seen.

AU 41
OM- 0

Total yardage was 606 to 9 and OM could have easily been in the negative. Miracle they werent actually. Bo had 240 yards rushing and didnt play in the 4th qtr. OM coached was actually thankful that Dye didnt play Bo in the 4th

Once you get in the Bo Jackson / Herschel Walker level of player - I don't know how you pick one over the other. They both did things on the field I'd never seen before. Their greatness went beyond yards.

If Herschel Walker's speed wasnt natural... are you saying that he was supernatural?

Track times are faster in 55 yards, 60 yards, and 100 yards for HW.

Bo probably had better exceleration.
But you are a homer if you cant admit that Herschel had better acceleration.

If you look @ an entire career it's Emmitt Smith, to date. Great college career & is the NFL all time leading rusher, but don't let your bias get in the way

I would take Henry's Heisman year over anyone. But Walker has 3 years of stats under his belt running out of an offense that couldn't do much else but run.

Looking at Henry dominating the NFL and knowing how Walker was a shadow of himself in the pros, there's no doubt that Henry is the better running back. And it's not close.

Tom Brady's college career was pedestrian compared to his incredible pro-life. When they talk about his GOAT status it all kind of runs together. Which it should.

Herschel spent 3 to 4 years in the USFL. That's a long time for a RB. This conversation is about college. Herschel's college game is unmatched. When he was at Georgia, there was no trickery; they knew who was getting the ball 98% of the time.
