Broyels would be first as without him nothing else happens ever for the athletic programs.
I'd put Richardson second because NCAA basketball is more competitive and is harder to win a Natl. title in than track is

I would say for LSU it is probably Saban or Cholly Mac as Bertman has to be at the top of the list.
assuming we're talking about the three major sports, it's les miles.

I actually agree Saban isn't 2nd,but not bc he left lsu.
Bertman is first, Miles is 2nd because of his accomplishments over a MUCH longer time period when the SEC was King of CFB. Saban was only here a few years, and lost 4 games his final season. He was not as good a coach at lsu as he has since become. He is the best, but he wasn't yet when he was at lsu.

Based on wins and accomplishments:
1. Paul "Bear" Bryant: 232-46-9 record; 6 national championships; 13 SEC championships.
2. Nick Saban: 105-18 record; 4 national championships; 4 SEC championships.
If Saban wins 11 or more games this year he will pass Frank Thomas as the second winningest head coach in Alabama football history (Frank Thomas is #2 with a record of 115-24-7 over 15 seasons).

Cal won't surpass Rupp for awhile. Bear is probably 2nd at UK behind Rupp.

Didn't they play fewer games then? Still, nothing but respect

Yep. When Thomas took over the team in 1931, the average regular season length was only 9 or 10 games. He absolutely killed it from 1931-1937. He kind of dropped off after that but did have an exceptional team in 1945 before retiring after the following season.

If you include all sports, I'm not sure he makes top five, and I'm one of the ones who's still a big fan of his. Football, I'd put him tied at two with Dietzel.
