We would've beat dat arse if we played later in the year when Gus's team was free falling.
"IF" we would have had a top 5 defense we would have went undefeated...hmm...that was easy. I like "ifs".

No defense has ever really performed playing on the opposite side of Malzahn.
You mean both years with the same DC?

Coach BOOM... Unless Chavis somehow brought all of LSU players with him. Even if he did, his scheme doesn't match up with a fast tempo offense.

Cracks me up every time I see. Before this season, Chavis was the kryptonite to up-tempo O's.

Did y'all win any SEC games not at home this season?
I smell a check-in thread...

his defenses have performed best against us, auburn, and ole miss in the past three years. with a couple exceptions

True but all he has to do is show improvement from year to year...and as bad as A&Ms D was that wont be hard...

Not a flame...I know AUs D sucked as bad or worse than A&Ms...just making a point.
didn't take it as such. point well made

Joking or serious?
I watched the game and could see it being true tbh.

Chavis, because he will be at A&M for longer than 2 years

more serious than joking. it's apparently well known in CS that he has a drinking problem.

Chavis scheme works when offense controls the clock and his defense can rest. Watch LSU when they had so many 3 and out/defense is on the field.

I'm talking in terms of his OWN teams offense not the opponent.

i really hope gus and boom personalities/egos will prove to be oil and water- maybe boom won't adjust to going back to simply being a dc very well.

Muschamp. He's more aggressive and proactive in his philosophy; Chavis is more reactive. Aggie fans will come to understand this as the 2015 season plays out.

That is what I have always liked Muschamp.

His defenses have a tendency to get carved up when corners can't lock down their receivers (see LSU vs UGA 2013). 3 years from now? Flip a coin.
chavis needs a DL for his DB's to work. chavis biggest weakness is front 7.

A&M fricking sucks so they have a lot more room for improvement. Auburn is close to the top. Kinda like when you're already running a 5 min mile, getting into the 4's is tougher then making that sub 11.

Who makes the biggest impact: Muschamp or Chavis?
Chavis.
Muschamp will be successful at Auburn but he will more than likely leave after a short time to accept a job somewhere else as a head coach.

Let's see...
One is a fat, late 50's, heart-attack-in-waiting who took a 3 year pre-retirement gig to coach a talentless defense at a place where the entire culture needs to change in regards to how they play defense, and whose biggest weakness is recruiting.
The other is a young, energetic coach with talent to work with and motivated to rebuild his reputation, and is noted to be a great recruiter.
I'll take option B.
