Easily Derrick Thomas and Cornelius Bennett. Two of the greatest OLBs to play the game at BAMA.

Incorrect! We shared the title with Tennessee and Auburn. We played Miami in the Sugar Bowl that season.

We've been reviewing our claim at the monthly REC meeting; a decision is forthcoming.

The Gumps seem to be struggling to determine when they have actually won shite in the 80s/90s. Imagine that. Here yall go
And to make it clearer, DT played in 1986, 1987, 1988

To be fair, this exercise is a lot easier when you have 30 year span during which time, there is only one season you've got to avoid.

In the 27 years I posted, it goes as:
UF-7
UGA-5
lsu-5
Tenner-5
Aubie-5
Bama-4

Even if they could MSU wouldn't win one.

1971-2000, LSU won one SEC title and 0 national titles. That's 30 years, with only one year to avoid (1986).
Alabama's only options for players that fit the criteria of this list in the last 60 years are essentially the recruiting classes 1982-1985, 1993-1995, and 2000-2005. Whereas LSU could pick any players from 1971-1982 and 1986-1997. There are a few exceptions such as redshirts, transfers, etc.

Croyle is likely the most overrated bama player ever. It's DT and it's not even a contest.

My apologies.
In the example I gave, LSU had 24 years to choose from and Alabama 12. Counting the title from 1988, that changes it to 21 years for LSU and still just the 12 for Alabama. The broader point stands

But as of now, Jimmy Taylor did just as much in college and became a pro football hall of famer
Kevin Faulk did more in college.

Do Cotton Bowl or Peach Bowl Championships count? If not then...
