Muschamp is definitely a proven coach on Defense and AU defense will be improved. But I don't think it will be Top 20 D this year, th talent isn't there, yet, on that side of the ball. I do wonder how Malzahn and Muschamp mesh though , both have pretty big egos. I'm not so sure this is a match made in heaven.

I think they will mesh well. Gus doesn't seem to have any interest in the D other than if they are making stops. Boom should have free reign.

Better question: who gets credit for AU winning the NC ?
Will Gus be given credit for hiring Muschamp to go along with his Offense or will Muschamp be given full credit on turning everything around. If it the latter, then Muschamp may be a HC next year, if it the former he might have to wait a few years. It will be interesting to watch how the press handles it.

Yeah, actually there is plenty of talent on that side.
DL- Lawson is a 1st rounder. Adams has that potential, Lambert was a top JUCO lineman, Russell by all accounts is a beast at DT (he's from Carrollton, you may have heard of him)
LB- McKinzy is the 2nd ranked ILB prospect for the NFL behind only Ragland from Bama, Kris Frost has loads of talent, Tre Williams is a former 5* and #1 ILB prospect from the class of 2014
DB- Jonathan Jones was All-SEC and had 6 picks last year, Blake Countess is a grad transfer from Michigan who is 2x All Big Ten, Rudy Ford led the team in tackles last year, and you already know about Trey Matthews.

It will be GooseSix, as his car will be burning rubber trying to escape Lee County as fast as he can on 11/28/15 after we hang 60 on his precious D.

That's assuming he can get someone to cover his shift at Hickory Farms handing out samples in the mall.

If Bert went NFL and Gus left Auburn for Arky, the half of the hog contingent that can't stand him would melt harder than all the Auburn fans combined.

Is he going to take out a title loan on his trailer to afford tickets or something?

Bama fans really want to see Gus leave, and they're not being shy about it.
When the Texas job opened up, they were trying to be enthusiastic about Gus going to Texas. I find it funny to watch unfold.

Gus gets fired after he's caught in bed with his offensive coordinator and Muschamp is promoted to interim head coach after game 3 of the season.

Nominating for shittiest thread. The only thing redeeming about this thread is the fact that it is a reminder that the off-season is coming to an end. Seriously though. It's a poor troll attempt. And a stupid question. Of course it's Muschamp.
You don't want an honest answer so I'm going to give it to you. Gus will stay as long as he feels supported. Right now, Auburn is an elite job. It wasn't always though..so will it always be? I dunno. I hope so. We will see. Auburn will keep Gus as long as he continues to compete at a high level at Auburn's standards. What I mean by that is, last season at a lot of programs would be "ok...do that again and you are fired". Not at Auburn. He would have to do that and worse many more times to get walking papers. He is a great fit philosophically and culturally.
The answer is Muschamp...because he almost certainly wants a $5M+ HC gig again...and Auburn will never pay that to an assistant. He can kick arse for 3 years and get another HC opportunity but not at the program level of UF...think Louisville, Arkansas, Baylor, Cal, etc...
So that's my prediction. Gus stays 10+years, Muschamp 3.
