Damiere Byrd from South Carolina is one of the fastest players in the country.

People greatly exaggerate their 40 times... there may be anplayer or two that can run a consistent sub 4.3 40 a decade.

No one on earth runs a 4.1.

Yeah. Olympic athletes totally can't run that.

They actually can't. The fastest football players will compete at 40 yards with Olympic athletes. The training for a 40 yard dash and for the 100 m spring are actually pretty different in terms of stride and such.

Remember when Denard Robinson said he'd beat Usain Bolt in the 40, but Bolt would get him at 41?

Usain Bolt 40 Time Analysis

Here's a pretty good article on the subject. The gist is that Usain Bolt would likely run the 40 yard dash in just under 4 seconds.

His hand timed would be under 4. They estimated his laser time would be 4.10. This is also based off of his track speeds which were on a faster surface.

Bolt might be able to pull off close to a 4.1 40, but he is one of the only people on the planet.

Show me a link with someone actually running a 4.1 40... chris Johnson runs in the 4.2's, and I'd bet that is one of the fastest times in the world, if not the fastest.

Yeah, that was my point. I was using it as proof that Olympic athletes would at best be competitive at the 40 yard dash. Sorry if that got lost in the admission that Usain Bolt would still be the fastest man on the planet

4.1 would be reserved for exactly one person and it would be him. That dude is FASSSSSSSSSST.

The fast football players are usually some of the best track athletes in the nation as well. So there is some correlation.

Funny thing.....when all these speed demons get to the combine, where they actually measure the distance and have accurate timing, times go up by .2 and .3.

For Auburn, it is between Corey Grant, Sammie Coates, and Robenson Therezie.

Highly doubt they are faster than Sylve.

Any LSU fan that does not think Kavahra is the fastest player who hasn't been processed is fooling themselves.

wouldn't surprise me if they aren't faster in the 40 ... they're hurdlers, which doesn't mean they're worse athletes (probably better at football since they do hurdle), but straight line speed in the 40 could go to sylve ... he was a 100/200 meter guy in hs ...
