Bo Jackson. Derrick Thomas in terms of getting off the ball, but Bo was a speed demon at 230 lbs. Was incredible to see.

Bo Jackson…if he got a step on you he couldn’t be caught.” The rematch of Auburn in Austin in 1984 is known for Jerry Gray taking Bo Jackson out of the Heisman Trophy race. Jackson broke free and raced down the east sideline at Memorial Stadium when Gray ran him down and in the process Jackson separated his shoulder. The basically ended Jackson's junior season. He looked Jerry up after the game to assure him he considered it clean hit.

Bo miscalculated on that play. I guarantee you that if that run was against Alabama, even Jerry Gray wouldn’t have caught him if he was wearing Crimson!

Trindon Holliday is the right answer for those who saw him play. I've never seen anyone else's legs move that quickly

Pound for pound, there is only one

Listed at 285 here, Tree Fiddy would be more accurate for his days at UK. Dude was big but speedy for his immense size.

the toss sweep in 2011 v Auburn was amazing - saw it from the nosebleeds, then it was even better after getting home and getting it online

I wonder what Joe is doing these days

Those 2006 to 2009 Florida teams had some ridiculously fast players on them.

They also had a murdering butt pirate on the team, but that's another story.

Leave the 2006 team out of the murdering butt pirate discussion

Lots of people saying Trindon Holliday and I’d have to agree. I saw him play football live as well as on the track. I took my HS track team to watch the SEC T&F championships at Auburn about 15 years ago where he and another LSU guy went 1-2 in the 100M. I think he also ran in some T&F world championship races. Dude was small but he was a bullet.

Darren McFadden
Waddle
Joey Galloway
Prothro
Julio Jones - Don't forget, he ran a sub 4.4 with a broken foot at the NFL combine.

In person?

Three come to mind.

CJ Spiller - Clemson
Jeff Demps - Florida
Trindon Holliday - LSU

Yeah there are guys with faster 40 times, but in terms of what he can translate to on field speed, acceleration, change of direction, and top-end speed combined… I think Tyreek is the fastest I’ve ever seen

Why aren't any of the Bama folks saying Xavier Worthy?

I've still never seen a football player accelerate in-person like Jamaal Charles.
