Historically it’s been state, but it may be Florida. I was just commenting that state needs to be in the discussion

Ole Miss - 6
Alabama - 5
Tennessee - 5
Vandy - 5

Vols have six CWS appearances which, unfathomably, puts them ahead of Vanderbilt.

Seriously? Vanderbilt has 5 CWS appearances and two National Titles. That puts Tennessee far below Vandy.

in appearances it does, but Vandy has two titles and 2 runner-up finishes. 1 additional appearance doesn't make up the difference

Ahead of Vandy in terms of CWS appearances as, believe it or not, six is greater than five.

I mean it's obviously SCar based on titles and title appearances.

Certainly other schools have more overall appearances.
Corbin averaging 4 wins per Omaha appearance. Not sure how far you’d have to go back in time to find a coach with a similar rate (min. 5 appearances).

Florida

1 national title
3 runner ups
38 NCAAT appearances
15 regional championships
13 CWS appearances
7 SECT titles
16 SEC regular season titles

2750 all-time wins

South Carolina

2 national titles
4 runner ups
34 NCAAT appearances
19 regional championships
11 CWS appearances

2706 all-time wins

They’ve been in multiple different conference and were also independent for 35 total years so not really fair to include SEC titles for them

You won’t except maybe Dedeaux. There aren’t that many coaches who have been 5+ times, so the pool of coaches to compare is really small. Bertman went 11 times, winning 5 times, and won 25 total games. That’s probably going to be the closest you’ll find

Also worth noting, 4 wins in Omaha won a championship prior to 2003, so averaging 4 wins 20+ years ago meant you averaged winning a national title

The only thing comparable to Vanderbilt going from nothing to elite is Oregon State in 2005-2018.
