Most likely scenario is that Bateman sticks around through the playoffs.
I would assume it depends on whenever class starts at his new school? We may not know until he decides where he's going.

Barnett through the playoffs.
Edit: Oops. Brain lapse. Meant to say Bateman.

I doubt Arizona State would let him do it.

Alabama backup QBs Cooper Bateman and David Cornwell are transferring, but a source told ESPN that Bateman will stay on through the College Football Playoff. Seeing as Jalen Hurts runs the football as much as he does, keeping an experienced backup on the roster is pivotal. No word yet on whether Cornwell will finish out the season.

I feel bad for Hurts. College kids being college kids, there's bound to be at least a couple who see the lack of depth as a great excuse to try to take the QB out of the game...hard. They'd be campus heroes even if they get ejected.

Bama is pretty much in the same boat as OSU was two years ago. Down to their last QB and the back up is a WR.

Meyer beat Saban with his third string QB two years ago. Saban needs to repay the favor by beating him in the national championship game with Ardarius Stewart as his QB.

Bateman and/or Cornwell will probably stick around

Bateman and/or Cornwell will probably stick around
In the meantime, they can't get transcripts transferred till this semesters grades are finalized. So they can register and enroll at their future destination.

You guys are seriously dumb

Since it sounds like Bateman is sticking around through the playoffs, it's not a big deal. There's a reason we took two QBs in this class. Transfers were expected.

If Hurts gets injured, Saban will probably just run a quarterbackless offense and still beat everyone by 3 TDs.

Same guy since Barnett left. Cooper Bateman and David Cornwell will stay on through the end of the season.

Same backup we've had. Cooper Bateman.

Maybe Chandler Cox can transfer in.

I want no piece of Cornwell. Lots of similarities to Cardale. Big kid who can throw an accurate deep ball to Ridley and Stewart. Plus no one has any scouting film on him. Hurts is going to be a great player but against a playoff caliber D he may struggle to stretch the field. Plus both Clemson and Ohio State go up against a similar type of QB every day in practice. I think Bama would beat Washington with Stewart at QB. Get a pick 6, score a TD on O and hold them to 10. Very doable with the D you guys have.
