Unlike those stupid Gumps. I bet not a single one of them even seen the inside of a Bammer classroom. All they care about is Bammer football and that's it.
Another lost soul sees the true light! It's a miracle!

The vast majority of your fan base, like every SEC fan base, is non alums. You're no different

You understand that Alabama has a larger alumni base than Auburn, right?
A larger number of alums does not necessarily mean that a larger percentage of Bama fans are graduates.

This it true, but the flag ship schools usually have a larger alumni base since they are the state school.
Since Auburn is the smaller school student wise, they'll probably have a smaller alumni base population wise, and a smaller fan base overall. It's probably easier for them to have a larger percentage of alumni in their fanbase than Alabama.
This is probably true for a lot of bigger vs smaller school, especially if one is more popular. I bet ULL's fanbase has a higher percentage of alumni compared to LSU, despite LSU being the larger school and alumni base.

"family atmosphere"?

only very recently, Auburn was a larger school for more than 30 years up until just a few years ago

I know. But the initial contention is that few Bama fans (as a percentage of the whole) actually graduated from Bama.
The argument in response was that Bama has a larger alumni base. This argument is flawed because a greater number of alumni doesn't necessarily mean that the fanbase is comprised of a higher percentage of alumni.
I don't necessarily ascribe to the notion that you have to have graduated from a school to be a fan of their sports teams. I was just pointing out an error in the logic.

I ran these numbers awhile ago and the closest estimate was that every SEC fan base (at least the ones I could get numbers on) was at the very best 18% alumni and this was giving all reasonable doubt. The more realistic number is maybe between 10-15%. I think TAMU had the smallest alumni-fan ration with only about 8% of their fans being alums. All the other SEC schools were within 5-7 percentage points of each other as far as alumni-fan ration. I can't remember who had the largest because they were all so close

Yep. 87,000 Auburn graduates pack the stands every fall Saturday. They all graduated and make six figure incomes.

That's because Auburn has more affordable student housing.
