If Key continues at his torrid pace, or even close, it will be interesting to see who makes SEC, AA lists between the two of them at the end of the year.

Non conference statistics and nationwide accolades have never mattered when this board evaluates Garrett. They both have two sacks against the SEC, this is the only stat that matters

It's funny because you honestly believe that.

The only people that would compare Arden now to Myles now are stat geeks. Nobody that has watched both play would compare.

someone was saying Mizzou's line is the best UGA will see all year

And maybe Nicholls State was the 2nd best DL we'll see all year. Fans say all kinds of silly things when their team doesn't meet expectations. Everyone expected Georgia to have a dominant rushing attack this year, but our last two opponents have sold out to stop the run and our coaches haven't been able to adapt very well. Partly because we have a freshman quarterback who ideally would be holding a clipboard/learning the offense, and partly our coaches apparently thought we could run with 8 in the box and DB's crashing the LOS.

UGA will face a lot of "great" DL's until opponents start to really respect the passing game.

You're looking at the # 1 defense right here and cant use schedule....because our defense dominated 3 teams that could NOT move the ball....14 points given up in three games is misleading ....35 yds in laundry gave UMass one of the TDs and the other against UK was against scrubs. If you look at the total stats and 16 fricking sacks in 3 games...our defense showed what they are made of. You dont want us on your schedule.

Key 14 total tackles 5 sacks

He isn't even the best defensive lineman more so the best defensive player in football, come on man
jonathan allen is better than either of these guys, 3 sacks, 11 tackles (6 solo same as key), 4 qb hurries, 2 passes batted down,a 75 fumble recovery/int for a td, and a blocked kick. All this at 294 lbs

Allen is a beast of a player but I believe Arden Key and Myles Garrett are both better pass rushers. Allen probably kills them against the run though. It's okay to say that players on other teams are talented. Your hair won't catch on fire.

One is a true DE/DT. Are Garrett and Key listed as OLB?

i bet allen is more efficient on snaps hes actually rushing. That's all key and garrett do. Allen plays DT half the time. I made my comment because those two were arguing either key or garrett were the best defensive player. Allen is a better football player than either of them

I see Key a lot, but I only wTch MG when LSU plays Aggie. It's a small sample size, but it looks like MG gets manhandled by offensive linemen on running plays. Key is also not at his best defending the run. He needs to get bigger. Both are great attacking the passer.

2016 Garrett might be better. I don't know because I haven't seen him. But I'd take 2016 Key over 2015 Garrett by a lot.

The argument that Garrett can't play the run and is only a pass rusher is old and false. This year he has done a great job at sealing off his end on running plays. Also, you can't simply state stats and say others are equal to him. Look at the Auburn and the UCLA games. Both teams ran the majority of their plays to the right side of the field, away from Miles. He essentially shuts down over 1/3rd of the field based on his presence alone.
