But les miles would never be a coach who could jump to the NFL, be amuse you need to actually be able to coach at that level.
He coached for the Dallas Cowboys before heading to OSU.
I think you greatly undersell Les for two reasons:
1) he doesn't take himself seriously and could care less about what people think of him, so he drums up the Forrest Gump persona. He'll gladly get lambasted by the media rather than let his players take any heat.
2) listen to his locker room speeches or his press conference before the 2007 SEC Title Game. There isn't any Les-isms, and he's not trying to cover anything up with coach speak--I think his media interactions are a front.

So you are saying he is a dishonest retardation?

Tennessee fans need to pump the breaks on this pessimism a tad. I'm not wowed by the coaching, but an overtime loss to Oklahoma isn't exactly a reason to fire a year 3 head coach.

It can't be Arkansas. Petrino was coming off a 10-3 and 11-2 season. He was doing good. Poor John L shouldn't have been coaching that year, but he did beat Auburn.
I don't know what the hell is going on with Bert.
The answer is Tennessee. Fulmer, Kiffin, Dooley, Jones.

Old folks category. Dubose, Francionni, Price, Shula. (All had 10 win seasons, but we're not good coaches. )
Shula didnt.
As a matter of fact all of his wins were vacated by the NCAA over the Textbooks for sale(cheating scandle)
His official record for his last 2 seasons is
2005 0-2
2006 0-6

I hadn't really ever given much attention to Les speaking or interviewing, but during the auburn game when he was speaking to the side line reporter it hit me.

Les may not sound very bright but he is one of the winningest coaches over the last decade. You don't become one of the winningest coaches in a decade without being smart.
