It'll probably be musical chairs involving

Briles to Auburn
Gus to Ole Miss
Beaverfrickface to Baylor

FTR, I don't think Gus gets fired after this year. I think he does enough (just enough) to keep the job. That said, no one is jerking over the thought of Gus getting fired.

Both Gus and Hugh are a poor man's Larry Coker.

Unless the NCAA comes out with something that directly connects Freeze to paying players, Ole Miss is going to keep him on staff. He's the best coach we've had since Vaught, won a Sugar Bowl and brought in great talent. Ole Miss is going to do everything they can to keep him.

If they haven't fired Freeze by now, they're not gonna until the record starts sucking for OM standards. Gus has two years to get this thing turned around. Can we push at two years for both?

First of all, a Barn fan calling Bama a cult is priceless.

But more importantly, there's not a single Alabama fan who wants Gus gone.

After what Hugh and Bjork said today, and if this all ends up being what we think it will be, it will be one of the most embarrassing situations in college football history.

Reb, I agree with you however I heard an interesting take while driving thru B'ham. The commentator seemed to think Freeze has had enough of these boosters going unchecked and will bring down the hammer. This is not a recipe to try and keep your job for very long. He thinks Freeze will get fed up and resign within 3 years.

I can see Bucky going to Baylor and the Guster joining as the OC. They would make a great team. Waco is always ready for a cult.

You really think he is y'all's best coach since vaught? He went 9-3, that got miles a hair away from being fired. i think he is a good coach and a really good recruiter but on the field results haven't caught up yet. Maybe y'all's history of coaches is worse than I thought. I would have put cutcliffe over him. His 03 seasons was better then anything freeze has done.

Who is the most recent College Football coach to withstand sanctions, which at minimum are what Ole Miss is proposing?

I think Gus is gone after next year, Auburn hires Briles. I think Freeze survives 3 - 4 more but once he has to play with recruits that Ole Miss has to get honestly combined with losing a few scholarships a year Ole Miss will go back to a 4 - 5 win team and he'll get canned.
