Clemson for me too.

I also would really hate bringing in a school that isn't already in a BCS AQ conference such as a southern miss, ucf, ecu, and the likes. The big 12 taking tcu in is embarrassing no matter how good their football team was at the time.

I wish we would have stuck with twelve though. 14 teams is too many and makes it to where its too long of a period without playing another school. Its going to get to the point where we don't even feel like we're in the same conference as Alabama and Ole Miss etc. But, since we did add 2 new schools and they aren't leaving, I'm glad it was Mizzou and A&M.

Southern Miss will never be a viable option for any BCS AQ conference. Not enough support, money, fans, and they add absolutely 0 revenue possibility to the conference they join.

What possible benefit offsets the shite-ton of garbage and baggage they bring?

They are the "Destroyer of Conferences".

Because they bring in much more fans and tv sets in your state than A&M does, they are a better football program historically, and in addition to there games vs A&M they can have great games yearly vs Arky, LSU, and Bama. More fans and more tv sets = more money. Another big national program is good for the conference's image and helps ensure we always have @ least 1 team in the upcoming playoffs and when they expand it would open the door to permanent SEC dominance.
And finally my ideal SEC has 11 of our current members (remove Kentucky, Missouri, and Mississippi State), and add Texas, Oklahoma, Virginia, North Carolina, and Duke.

A lot of SEC fans think VaTech would be a great addition, but they could not be more wrong. Those people are scum. Most redneck, fair-weather, unbearable fan base in America. I know that's a tall claim, but until you live with these people, you can't possibly understand. I think Michael Vick single handedly quadrupled the size of the VT fan base, which become the Duke/UNC fan base in hoops season because VT can't beat UVA in basketball.

If they can pull it off, the best option for the SEC would be to add UVA and UNC. Their fans are snobby, but are still pleasant to hang out with. They're similar to Ole Miss fans sort of.

I know VT is better than UVA at football now, but that would change quickly if UVA was in a better conference. There's a lot of talent in the state that would be more inclined to go to UVA if it was an SEC school. Same applies to UNC.

Also, the academic reputation of those two would be huge for the conference.

100,000 Texas Fans is equivalent to about 300 fans of SEC schools.

This. Adding schools almost has to come from NC and VA to add tv markets. It's about having new states with conference tv coverage

I want the SEC to add Fla State in the East and Oklahoma in the West... Won't happen... But that's who I want... So I guess I do NOT want every other team in division I.

I don't want OU. Land thieves and recruit thieves can go rot in the Big 12.

Clemson nor FSU bring anything to the table. The AD at FSU talked openly recently about the possibility of going to the SEC. He said that they would have a hard time convincing the SEC officials that they would add something to the revenue stream rather than just take it away. He noted that the UF and FSU campuses are not that far away from each other and share the tv market.

Virginia definitely!!!!

I don't really care for NC State either...

if we bring in any North Carolina school, it should be Duke (assuming NC opts for Big 10)....

that would at least give us another bball power

Shouldn't we give every team a chance to win the SEC (or at least their division) before we start adding more teams? UK, Vandy, State, OM, Mizzou, and AandM would appreciate it.
