Dude, you were the one that wrote "check please and pull my car up front". I was just minding my own business trying to innocently troll half the SEC teams.

Half of those teams will win a conference championship before tech wins another one.
hmmm

I don't think so, in fact, that would be impossible

Impossible? No, you need to look up the definition of that word.

How long will it take Ga Tech to catch Duke with their 7 ACC Championships?

Okay junior bulldogs, we kinda already did. Conference championships since Georgia Tech joined the ACC-

Duke - 1
Georgia Tech - 3

Or if you combine our SEC football conference championships -

Georgia Tech - 8
Duke - 7
Misssissippi State - 1

If you include all conferences each school has been affiliated with for football they are ahead of us -

Duke - 21
Georgia Tech - 16
Mississippi State - still only 1

Another comparison
National Championships -

Georgia Tech - 4
Mississippi State - 0

SEC was garbage plus Alabama pre 90s. Good thing they had Kentucky in basketball too.

Dumbest decision Ga. Tech ever made was leaving the SEC in 1963. They were greedy and wanted to keep all of their revenue for themselves. Very shortsighted on their part.
Yes they will claim it was because of recruiting but it was really all about the $$$$.
In short term it might have been good but in the long run it was a terrible decision.

Same for Tulane as well. Dumb decision on their part as well but for different reasons.

Credit to Ga. Tech that they were an elite football program back in the day. However being an Independent from the 1964 to the early 80's was detrimental to the program.
Being in the ACC has helped them since but IMO they would have been better off staying in the SEC all these years.

How has Ga Tech endured hard times leaving the SEC? They are in the ACC which isnt so shabby. Best basketball conference, damn good badeball and not as far behind in football as some on here want to believe. Let Miami and UNC continue growing in recruiting and theyre neck and neck . I almost said without the cheating but remembered UNC shouldve gotten double death penelty by now however the NCAA looks the other way on Bama as do they UNC

I thought this thread was ONLY talking about fb titles. What does your post mean?

My fault there. I was pointing out that GT leaving the SEC was dumb and he was pointing out that they have done ok in the ACC. But being Independent for 20 years was like being in no mans land. You have nothing to play for....no conference title...nothing

Yes ND can do it because well they are the Irish and they have a national following.

But when GT did it , it did not work out too well hence the reason they joined the ACC in the 80's. Which they have done ok since then .

My point was they would have been better staying put in the SEC and they would have not had that 20 year void of being irrelevant.

As long as Saban is coaching Bama, the answer is: None of them.
