Bama was using it before the braves moved to Atlanta. Arkansas probably as well.

I really like our A but to me it just looks like a baseball logo. Bama's doesnt look like baseball to me so it goes good with all their sports.

The arky A looks more like oaklands A than bamas A while the braves A looks more like the bama A

So your saying Alabama is Alabama's bitch?

I could see that. Bama isn't anyone else's bitch.

It is a baseball-only logo.

Bama doesn't really have a decent primary logo other than their A.

We have a good primary logo already.

We did until Bockrath dumped the block A and elephant in the late 90s.

Yes, you did. That new 90s elephant isn't any better than our loathsome popcorn hog.

Actually the A logo for the Braves started when they moved to Atlanta in 1966 and the Alabama script A origins came in the late 1950's.

Yep, Alabama was using the script A while the Braves were still in Milwaukee.

I know it's baseball only and it should stay that way. It would look dumb used in anything other than softball and baseball

People are throwing out dates but can someone provide links?

I can't find much but Chris Creamer's Sports Logo website shows Atlanta adopting their script A in 1966 while Alabama adopted theirs in 1976.

Photos of Bryant in his first year at Alabama (1958) show him with a script A ball cap.
