Were Auburn fans happy with the results in the BCSNC Title game against Fla. St.? Auburn will always be known as the team that didn't have the chest to keep the SEC BCSNC Title streak alive.

AU wasn't the first SEC Team to lose the BCSNCG.

I'm not sold on A&M and Sumlin being a power. Since when have they won anything of significance??

We kept it in the SEC family as much as it hurt. Auburn lost it to the beaver/crab burglar from the ACC.

Post count boom?

You might need to take a few lessons from Buford Puser with flaming, trolling and rustling.

You can arguably say LSU has near exclusive access to LA talent and it has a very strong presence in east Texas. I think it'll be harder for Alabama to sustain 2 major programs long term...especially if Tennessee can get its shite together and recruit in AL more. I say AU falls a bit.

We have a nice pipeline in Florida and we have Louisiana to ourselves for the most part. We will also still have our Texas pipelines also. The team TAMU will hurt most is Oklahoma, who gets most of their good recruits from Texas.

Well since history repeats itself and Auburn and Bama have had their drop offs recently its LSU's turn. Chavis retiring will probably be when it starts really falling through.

College football is extremely cyclical. Teams that have no business fizzling out can spiral downhill out of nowhere. It's the nature of the game. Examples: Notre Dame, Texas, Michigan, USC, Bama a few years ago... It happens.

No. I hate how people say this. What happens is sometimes several thingz, or one thing.

-Your division or conference gets tougher
-Your coach retires, gets older and less productive, or moves on to another job (likely the NFL,)
-A scandal or major violation occurs
-A great OC or DC leaves and the HC can't replace them with the right guy (this usually leads to firing of HC, and could send team through years of bad HC hires)

Each decline is easily explained. It just doesn't happen out of nowhere. Some program rises can be the cause of a great player or players. Some a great HC, OC, or DC hire. Others can be the fall of another program that cause this program to get better recruits and easier wins.

But one or a combination of those things eventually happens to all programs, which is why they are they are cyclical.

Let's just say, with the way he's recruiting and how he can field an offense, one good DC hire will make them a powerhouse. You also have to give it time. They are in the SEC West which is the toughest division in CFB and actually competing. Yes Manziel was great, yes Evans was too, but this is the same offense Sumlin ran when he took Sam Bradford to having the best true freshman season by a QB ever. Same one he ran with Keenum. TAMU was pretty much mediocre with mediocre talent. He's looking to beef up both sides of the program, and it's only a matter of time. Give it two yesrs, and they'll be competing for the West which is basically the quarterfinals or the CFB Playoff.

Before you crown A&M for the foreseeable future, let's see a season with Sumlin without Manziel

agree

bc frankly frankly Miles, Gus and Saban would have all won a championship with Manziel.

Alabama due to their propensity to hire mediocre coaches (Saban will be retired at the lake or in the NFL by 2020). They are one for their last five in hiring quality coaches.

Auburn will be an 8-11 win team during the rest of Malzahn's tenure.

LSU will be the same team they are now.

A&M will be down this year at about 7-5 or 8-4 then jump to a perennial 10-win team.

State will be about the same as they are now as well.

Arkansas will be the cellar-dweller until their next coach gets enough recruiting classes to get his system in place and can win games.

Ole Miss will get the Death Penalty.

We're too close to ATL. During our worst years, we still had a top 15 recruiting class.

This year LSU will by far be the worst of the 3 but they recruit well and can recover.
