So when Alabama had JPW, McCarron, and McElroy, it's all about how easy it is to be an Alabama QB and how all they do is throw check downs.

Depends on if you are talking about the QB position as is, or in the context of the surrounding cast.

LSU and Alabama could theoretically have the worst QB situation (they don't) while having the best offenses.

LSU has some talented QB's but Miles' offense will always stifle them no matter what.

Huh? No idea why people say this. Russell was stifled? Mett was stifled? They were among the top QBs in the country their final years.

LSU hands down out of those teams. Both of the top 2 QBs failed last year and the OC is the same. Nothing new to even give them hope.

BAMA and UGA seem to be able to just plug in new QBs and keep on going.

UF has a new starter that is more of a passer then Harris and new Offensive coaching staff. So there is some hope .

Ole Miss had a average at best QB last year and now they will replace with some coaches with no real experience. I don't know if the new guy can be much worse then Wallace.

Harris has had time to develop, so there is hope in that. but i dont think most reasonable LSU fans are convinced he can handle the job.

I agree there is nothing to give them hope regarding Jennings

They were a freshman and sophomore and the freshman had a very high QB rating, just had 1 bad start.

UF and Ole Miss' QB situations are clearly worse

maybe so (lots of common sense in your reply) but LSU's situation is light years better than last year. I think you can eliminate a Heisman performance or even an all SEC one but we should get a solid performer this year.

that bodes well for LSU and not so much for the rest of the conference.

LSU's QBs will surprise some people this year. You can bookmark that.

Ole Miss
UF, UGA, LSU
Bama

In order of worst to best situation

More like
UF, LSU - Whoever their QBs end up being, they're probably not going to scare anyone
OM - No experience and a 50/50 in Chad Kelly
UGA - Little experience but some talent to work with
Bama - Little experience but tons of talent

In order of Worst to Best

Also the obvious answer is Florida. I mean, Treon Harris actually managed to come in under Anthony Jennings in the final passing stats.

going into this season, i'd take Treon over Jennings every time.

You think Treon Harris is starting?

Most of us don't expect him to start, though.

Isn't Will Grier the expected starter?

Care to pick out a game in which Harris played well and beat a quality opponent? You can't, because that game doesn't exist. GTFO.

That being the case, LSU is the only team mentioned who returns a QB to have started a game the season prior. By the plain definition, we have the BEST QB situation.

OK then you're trotting out a guy with no SEC experience. How is that better than LSU's situation? It isn't.

i dont think Jennings is expected to be a starter either.

So, if you were picking a backup between Treon and Jennings, who would you pick?

Jennings is the starter. Don't be fooled. Brandon Harris obviously has great potential and LSU fans would love for him to realize it. But Les won't start him Game 1 that's not happening.

Yes. Much better pure passer than Treon, and he isn't that big of a drop off running the ball.

But none of that will matter if our O-Line is a shitshow.

At least LSU has a solid OL in front of whichever kid wins the spot. At this point, don't you think the Gator QBs almost hope the other guy gets named the starter? A 5- or 7-step drop is going to be a ritual sacrifice.
